Walkthrough

    Start in the Waking Ruins and head towards the Vex Citadel, then The Juncture.

    Clear out the Fallen enemies battling the Vex in The Juncture, including Sniper Vandals, Elder Shanks, and Vechron, Spire Lord (Major Hydra).

    Use the lift controls to enter the lift.

    Jump over the machines that fade in and out of the timeline to progress.

    Jump over the left wall made of gold to find a Dead Ghost.

    Fight through Vandals and Dregs in the next area, using cover.

    A Captain will emerge and backtrack; do not chase too quickly as more Fallen will appear.

    To your left, the area opens up. Before proceeding, leap atop the right side column to find a second Dead Ghost.

    Defeat the two Wolf High Servitors guarding the portal to Skolas. You can do this from a distance or by approaching and then retreating.

    Backtrack down the ramp and climb atop the column to your left (the one with the Dead Ghost).

    From this vantage point, defeat Skolas, Kell of Kells with Heavy Weapons and Sniper Rifle fire.

    Once Skolas's health is depleted sufficiently, he will be captured, and the mission will end.
Tips
  • The mission is set at Level 28, with XP bonuses for higher levels (Level 30: +5500 XP, Level 32: +7500 XP and a Mote of Light).
  • The area before Skolas has two Wolf High Servitors that act as a gate. Defeating them from a distance or luring them out is recommended.
  • The column where you find the second Dead Ghost provides an excellent sniping position for the Skolas encounter.
  • Completion of this mission unlocks The Prison of Elders.
