Ritual of the Forsaken

Your step-by-step guide to completing the Ritual of the Forsaken mission in Destiny, including enemy strategies, boss tactics, and rewards.

Alright, Guardian! We're diving into the 'Ritual of the Forsaken' mission. The main goal here is pretty straightforward: get this Urn thing to the Moon. Eris has some pretty intense instructions for us, so let's get this done.

Level Recommendations: You'll be facing enemies around Level 26, but there's a Level 30 version that offers better rewards like Motes of Light, Engrams, and Vanguard Marks. Stick with it if you can!

The Hellmouth

First up, we're heading into the Hellmouth. Just push through and make your way down into an area called the Circle of Bones. You'll run into a bunch of Acolytes and Thrall, but honestly, you can usually just sprint past most of them if you're in a hurry. Just keep an eye out for those nasty Cursed Thrall – they explode!

Once you get to the Circle of Bones, take a right into the hallway. You'll need to deal with a Chosen Wizard and some Chosen Acolytes here. My advice? Try to get to higher ground. It makes shooting them a lot easier. After you clear them out, keep pushing forward until you reach The World's Grave. Be ready, because this is a Darkness Zone, meaning your respawn is disabled.

The World's Grave

You'll enter a couple of rooms here. The first one is empty, but the second one is packed with more Hive enemies. After you've dealt with them, find the Sacrificial Cauldron and stand on it to kick off the ritual. As soon as you do, a Sword of Crota will appear. This is super important for the rest of the fight, but be warned: Crota's power poisons the air around the cauldron. You need to grab that sword and get out of the poisoned zones ASAP. Your new objective is to 'Survive the Attack,' and it comes in waves.

Wave 1 & 2: Thrall & Acolytes

These first two waves are pretty manageable. Just grab the Sword of Crota, stay out of the poisoned areas, and slash away at the Hive. Easy peasy.

Wave 3 & 4: Knights & Wizards

Things get a bit tougher now. For these waves, you might want to drop the Sword of Crota and switch to ranged attacks. Trying to hit those flying Wizards with the sword is a pain. Your Golden Gun or some Sunsinger Solar Grenades are perfect for taking them down. If you've got a Solar Shotgun, it can one or two-shot them too.

Wave 5: Malgor, the Forsaken and Thogar, the Forsaken

Finally, you'll face two Ogres: Malgor and Thogar. A Rocket Launcher is your best friend here – it'll make short work of them. If you don't have one, you can always duck behind cover and chip away at their health slowly. Once they're down, you've completed the ritual and the mission!

Upon completion, you'll earn a set of Legendary Gauntlets with +33 Light. The specific ones depend on your class:

• Titan: Knightbone Guard
• Hunter: Acolyte Rung
• Warlock: Thrallskin Brace

Plus, you'll get +100 Crota's End Reputation. Nice!
