While Eriksholm: The Stolen Dream features a predefined protagonist, Elara, you do have some options for customization that impact gameplay. At the start of the game, you'll be prompted to choose a starting 'Archetype' which subtly influences your initial stats and a unique starting ability. These archetypes include the 'Vanguard' (focused on melee combat and defense), the 'Shadow' (specializing in stealth and ranged attacks), and the 'Scholar' (proficient in arcane abilities and support). Your choice here isn't permanent, as you can diversify your build later, but it sets your initial playstyle. Beyond this, cosmetic customization is limited to finding and equipping different armor sets and outfits throughout the game, which also provide defensive bonuses. Consider your preferred playstyle when selecting your archetype, as it will shape your early game experience and the types of challenges you'll find easiest to overcome.
