Walkthrough
  1. 1
Upon entering Bahamut's Lair, you'll find three initial paths. The east and west paths are dead ends. Proceed south to the next tri-branch fork.
  2. 2
From the second fork, head east to find an Arctic Wind and a Phoenix Down. Go west to collect some Earthen Drums and a Heavenly Wrath. Continue south to the next area.
  3. 3
Follow the winding, linear path. Along the way, you will find the Golem Staff, White Musk, Lilith’s Kiss, Chocobo’s Wrath (which grants the Flare spell), and the Turtle Shell. From the last two items, head south.
  4. 4
In the next area, go west to find the Eurytos Bow. Then, go east and north to find a Phoenix Down and an Elixir. Continue west past the northbound path to find a Kotetsu. Finally, proceed along the northbound path, healing your party as you prepare for the boss fight against Bahamut.

Boss: Bahamut

  • Level: 45
  • Max HP: 34,000
  • EXP Earned: 20,000
  • Gil Earned: 16,500

Bahamut attacks twice per turn. While his physical attacks are not exceptionally strong, his signature move, Mega Flare, can deal 1,000-1,500 damage to the entire party and cannot be reflected. White Magic is crucial; Curaga/Curaja are essential for healing, Raise for reviving fallen allies, and Protect can reduce incoming damage. Haste boosts physical damage output, and Aero/Aeroga spells are effective against him.

Dragoons are highly recommended due to their Jump ability, which deals double damage to Bahamut, who is weak to Wind/Aero. A Dragoon at Job Level 25 can deal approximately 3.5 times more damage with Jump. While the Wind Spear is effective, weapons with higher Attack power like the Trident, Dragon Lance, Holy Lance, Gungnir, or Magic Lance may deal more damage if their Attack stat exceeds 106. If you lack such weapons, the Wind Spear is a good alternative.

Other party members can contribute: Ninjas can deal 2,000-3,500 damage with the Air Knife when Thrown. Wyvern Claws also deal damage when Thrown. Black Mages should focus on “-ga” spells. Summoning Leviathan can deal significant damage. Geomancers have a chance to cast Wind Slash, dealing 1,500-2,500 damage. However, the primary sources of offense will be Dragoon Jumps and Aeroga spells.

  • After defeating Bahamut, you will receive the Bahamut Summon.

After the battle, proceed north to exit the dungeon.
