Dwarven Hollows: Town Square

Alright, so you've made it to the Dwarven Hollows! This is a pretty important spot, kind of the main hub for this part of the game. When you first get here, just head through the initial room and then go downstairs. You'll find yourself in the main 'town square' area, with all the shops lined up along the north wall. Let's check them out!

First up, the Item Shop. You can grab your usual supplies here:

Now, let's talk about what's worth your Gil. The Tyrfing from the weapon shop is a big deal – it's way better than any sword you've likely got right now, so definitely consider upgrading your party's swords. The Diamond Bell is for Geomancers, so you probably won't need it immediately, but it's an option if you're planning ahead. They also have Fire and Ice Staves, plus Iron and Holy Arrows. Quick tip: Holy Arrows are super effective against those pesky undead enemies you might run into.

Over at the armor shop, the Ice Armor is a solid choice for your Warriors, Thieves, and Red Mages. While its defense stats are just one point lower than the Flame Mail, it offers fire resistance, which will be super useful in a future dungeon. It's worth picking some up to save for later. The Ice Helm and Ice Shield are also upgrades over what you likely have, so deck out your front-line fighters. Don't forget the Kenpo Gis for your Monks and Mage Robes for your White and Black Mages!

Once you've shopped to your heart's content, find the dwarf standing guard by the central shrine. Chat with him to continue the main story. After that, you'll need to head towards the Subterranean Lake using the southwest passage. Be ready, because down there, you'll have to transform into a Toad to get through. Don't worry, it's only temporary, and you can cast the spell to change back once you're on the other side!
