Catching Frogs: Misc Side Quests

Alright, let's talk about catching frogs in Final Fantasy IX! This isn't a super complex quest, but you'll need to know where to look for the special areas called Qu's Marshes. There are four of them scattered across the world, and you'll get access to all of them starting from Disc 3. Keep an eye out for areas that look marshy (a darker green color) with a little forest-like structure sticking out of the ground – that's your cue!

The layout of each marsh is a bit different, and you'll run into various enemies. Generally, though, you can follow the path with the moogles to find the pond. Just head straight into the weeds, and you should find your way.

Here's where you can find each of the four Qu's Marshes:

1. Mist Continent (First Location): This one is pretty easy to find. It's located just outside of Lindblum, on the path you take to get to Gizamaluke's Grotto. This is also where you'll recruit Quina to your party, so you'll likely stumble upon it naturally.
2. Outer Continent (Second Location): Head south from the Black Mage Village. This marsh is waiting for you there.
3. Forgotten Continent (Third Location): On the Forgotten Continent, you'll find one of the marshes on one of the islands. To get here, you'll need either the Blue Narciss ship or a Chocobo that can cross shallow waters or the ocean.
4. Forgotten Continent (Final Location): The last marsh is on the mainland of the Forgotten Continent. You can only reach this one by air, so you'll need your airship or a flying Chocobo. You can visit this spot anytime once you have access to the continent itself.
