Complete Chocobo's Lagoon and Chocograph Hunting in final fantasy ix. Requires Reef Ability and yields 37 Potions, 6 Magic Tags, Shield Armor, and Gaia Gear.
Walkthrough
- 1Sail south of Lindblum and follow the coast east until you find the beach near Chocobo's Forest.
- 2Look for tracks, call Choco with a Gysahl Green, and enter the forest.
- 3Mene will appear and tell you about Chocobo's Lagoon. Exit the forest.
- 4Locate the islands southwest of your current position and hover over the white dot on one island to find Chocobo's Lagoon.
- 5If you don't have the Reef Ability, travel through Gizamaluke's Grotto to reach the area near Cleyra to obtain Chocograph #4, Healing Shore.
- 6Once you have the Reef Ability, travel to the island with Chocobo's Lagoon.
- 7The lagoon is a cave on the side of the island, requiring Choco to enter. There are no tracks on this island.
- 8Travel to the next island west to find Chocobo tracks. Be aware this island is home to the Grand Dragon, a difficult enemy. Quickly land, call Choco, and leave.
- 9Travel the long way around to reach Chocobo's Lagoon cave. Enter and meet Mene again.
- 10In the lagoon, you are restricted to shallow waters. The price to start digging is cut in half, as is the time limit, down to four digs.
- 11Find four Chocographs (#7, #9, #12, #15) and one Chocograph Piece. Mene will notify you when no more can be found.
- 12Exit the lagoon and return to the Blue Narciss. Sail up the western side of the western continent to a large island with a long beach.
- 13Summon Choco on the tracks and begin digging in the shallow waters north (Chocograph #8 - Faraway Lagoon).
- 14At the northern tip, head south on the other side. Near the second small island offshore, search an inlet for treasure: 37 Potions, 6 Magic Tags, a Shield Armor, and a Gaia Gear.
- 15Return to the Blue Narciss and sail to the frigid continent north of your current location. Dock and find tracks on shore.
- 16Call Choco and equip Chocograph #6 - Cold Field. Go to the easternmost part of the beach. Dig inland from the shore for treasure: 5 Echo Screens, 7 Hi-Potions, 3 Tents, and a Theater Ship Card.
- 17Get back on Choco and travel south by southwest into the waters.
- 18Continue along until you reach a dead end on the eastern side of the previous continent.
- 19Equip Chocograph #7 - Forgotten Lagoon and search for treasure: 8 Gysahl Greens, 5 Ethers, 7 Hi-Potions, and some Dragon’s Claws.
- 20For Chocograph #9 - Abandoned Lagoon, travel to the Outer Continent (upper right). Travel along the southern side to an isolated piece of land called Kognish Shores. Find Chocobo tracks by the forest.
- 21Ride Choco along the coastline west to a peninsula. In a bend of the peninsula, search the small inlet for treasure: 6 Softs, 4 Ethers, Feather Boots, and a N-Kai Armlet.
- 22For Chocograph #12 - Dawn Lagoon, sail to the Mist Continent in the southeast. Go to where Chocobo's Forest is, summon Choco, and head east.
- 23Enter the water from the last beach and continue east until you spot a lone island. Search the southern side for treasure, which grants Choco the Mountain Ability.
