Your guide to navigating the Iifa Tree in Final Fantasy IX, including party management, enemy encounters, and key items. Continue your adventure through Disc 2!
Alright, so you're heading back to the Iifa Tree. If you've forgotten the way, just head back to the Conde Petie Mountain Path. Take the northern route from where you saw one of those big stones before, and you'll be right there. It's a pretty straightforward trip from there.
As soon as you enter the Iifa Tree, there's a scene. After that, you'll get a chance to swap out your party members and change their gear. For this part, the guide suggests sticking with Zidane, Amarant, Vivi, and Eiko, just like we did at the end of the last section. You can actually leave the Iifa Tree right now if you want, but you won't be able to change your party composition again until you re-enter and get that prompt.
Follow the path ahead. After a few screens, the game will take over with some cutscenes. Once those are done, you'll get another shot at tweaking your party. Stick around for the next scene, because then you'll have to fight a couple of Mistodons. Don't sweat these guys; they're just regular monsters, and the 'undead' type means they're not too tough. If you want them gone fast, Eiko or Dagger can use Life on them, but honestly, their HP is so low, it's probably not worth the MP.
Heads up: Mistodons can put your party to sleep with their Mist attack, so keep an eye on that!
More scenes will play out after the fight. Once you regain control, look behind the nearby tree to find Mocchi, a moogle. You can save your game here if you like, though it's not strictly necessary. You can also check your Mognet messages if you want to read a letter from Stiltzkin. From here, there's only one path forward, so keep going. You'll run into a few more Mistodons along the way.
Eventually, you'll reach the end of the path and meet back up with Dagger. You'll receive an Aquamarine here. After a few more scenes, Disc 2 wraps up, and you'll be whisked away to Disc 3. Nice work!
