Gizamaluke's Grotto

As the battle with Gizamaluke begins, use a Tent to inflict ailments like Silence and Darkness. This makes its Water attack useless and reduces its accuracy with the physical attack, Crash.

Gizamaluke primarily uses Water and Crash. If you attack with magic (it is weak to Thunder), it will counter with Silent Voice, silencing that character.

Later in the fight, Gizamaluke will use Water on all characters. You will need to use Potions or Hi-Potions to heal as you lack an actual healer.

You can steal valuable items from Gizamaluke, including an Elixir, a Magus Hat, and an Ice Staff (rare slot).

With Silence and Darkness inflicted on Gizamaluke, the battle becomes much easier.

After defeating Gizamaluke, you switch to Steiner at the Grand Citadel South Gate. Head up to the guards and you will be allowed inside.

Once inside, go to the left and open the chest for a Multina Racket.

To clear the alley in the upper right to find Dagger, speak to the lady first and choose an option to get her out of the way.

Talk to the green NPC (non-player character — anyone the game controls, not you) by the gate on the left, choose either option, then speak to the Chief Engineer in the bottom right.

The Chief Engineer will move, clearing the path to the alley. As you head there, a guard will approach and ask you to come to him. He drops a Gate Pass, which you automatically pick up.

Return to the alley and you can free Dagger.

With Dagger and Steiner, equip them with any available items.

In this new area, there is a treasure chest containing a Potion on the left.

Speak to the moogle named Grimo for a letter delivery quest via Mognet.

A merchant is available on the right side of the area if you need to restock items.

Climb the stairs and speak to the conductor to board the vehicle and continue the story.

Move to the seats on the right to trigger a cutscene (a non-interactive cinematic the game plays automatically) and switch back to Zidane.
