Alright, let's talk about the Dark Mage in Fire Emblem Fates: Revelation. This class is all about wielding forbidden techniques, and while it sounds super cool (and it is!), it's got some specific strengths and weaknesses you'll want to know about.

The Dark Mage is a Nohrian class that specializes in dark magic. Think of them as the dark counterpart to the Diviner class. They can use Dark Tomes, but honestly, the selection is pretty limited in Fates – mostly just Nosferatu. So, while they're pure magic users and can hit hard, they're not exactly the fastest or the toughest units on the field. Their growth rates reflect this: Health, Strength, Skill, Luck, and Defense are all pretty low, with Magic and Speed getting a bit more love, but still not amazing. Defense is particularly weak at only 5% growth.

Despite their frail nature, magic is a pretty big deal in Fates. A lot of enemies have really low Resistance stats, making a Dark Mage incredibly effective at exploiting that weakness. So, even though they're a bit slow and fragile, you'll definitely want to consider bringing at least one magic-user like a Dark Mage along in your army.
