Chapter 3 Journey Begins

Complete walkthrough for Chapter 3 of Fire Emblem Fates: Revelation, guiding you through the Bottomless Canyon mission, enemy encounters, and the 'Seize' objective.

Walkthrough:

1. Begin the chapter by talking to your father, who assigns you a scouting mission.
2. Travel to Bottomless Canyon N., the border between Hoshido and Nohr.
3. Upon arrival, Hoshidan soldiers led by Omozu will confront you. Hans will provoke them, initiating the battle.
4. Introduce the 'Pair Up' mechanic: Move a unit adjacent to another and select 'Pair Up'. The paired unit becomes passive, moving with the active unit, providing stat boosts, and taking hits. The passive unit is spared from attacks.
5. 'Dual Guard' triggers when the 'guard gauge' fills.
6. 'Separate' ends a pairing. 'Switch' changes active/passive roles. 'Transfer' moves a passive unit to pair with an adjacent character. 'Sheltering' pairs the controlled character as active.
7. Pair Gunter (passive) with your protagonist (active). Gunter boosts stats and provides offense.
8. Felicia/Jakob can provide ranged support and healing. Hans is an uncontrolled ally who will move towards the right side of the map.
9. Dispatch the Hoshidan Samurai blocking the bridge.
10. Avoid confronting the three Archers directly on the bridge, as they are supported by Samurai.
11. Locate the Dragon Veins on the small central island north of your starting position.
12. Activate the northern Dragon Vein to create a stone bridge to the right.
13. Use this bridge to flank the Hoshidan strong-point, dispatching the Archers and the Samurai.
14. The Archers may move to engage you as you cross, potentially allowing you to fight them one by one.
15. After clearing the northern strong-point, move to the Fort previously occupied by the Samurai to heal.
16. Return to the Dragon Vein island and activate the lower Dragon Vein to create a bridge to the south.
17. Lead with your protagonist and Gunter across the southern bridge, with Felicia/Jakob supporting from a safe distance.
18. The left Archer/Samurai pair will likely rush you and be defeated by the Protagonist/Gunter pairing.
19. Defeat Omozu (a Ninja) and the last Samurai.
20. Hoshidan reinforcements, consisting of two Sky Knights, will appear.
