Chapter 27 Hear My Cry

Alright, welcome to Chapter 27, 'Hear My Cry'! This one takes place in the Castle Valla Ruins, and your main goal here is to defeat the boss. Don't worry too much about the enemies leading up to him; they're mostly there to distract you. The real challenge is Anankos himself.

You'll notice that the Dragon Veins in this chapter have a cool trick: they turn the water into healing tiles! These tiles move with your Avatar, so try to keep your units grouped up with them. It's a fantastic way to keep everyone topped up and even gives you a movement boost. Think of it as a little bit of extra support, kind of like Queen Mikoto is looking out for you. And hey, no chests to worry about this time, so you can focus entirely on the fight.

The map layout is similar to the previous chapter, but with these new healing tiles. Just be aware that reinforcements can still pop out of the Dragon Veins if they aren't currently active as healing tiles, so keep an eye on those areas.

Enemies You'll Face

You're going to run into a pretty standard mix of tough units here. Keep an eye out for:

While these enemies can be a nuisance, the real threat is Anankos. The troops directly in front of him are pretty manageable, so you can probably just power through them. The main thing to watch out for with Anankos is his breath weapon, which has a range of up to three tiles. This means you'll likely have to endure a counterattack when you strike him. Also, be super careful if you have healers positioned right next to your attacking units, as they could easily get caught in the line of fire.

Facing Anankos

Anankos himself is a bit of a beast. He's got 80 HP and a special ability called Dragon Skin, which halves all incoming damage. The good news is that the game's combat forecast takes this into account, so you won't have to do any tricky math yourself. However, he's also immune to things like Lethality and Counter, won't take damage from Poison Touch, and deals reduced damage on critical hits. He's a tanky monstrosity, so you'll need your strongest units to take him down.

Your best bet is to use your most powerful characters, likely including the Nohrian and Hoshidan royal siblings, along with your Avatar. If your Avatar faces off against him, you'll get some interesting dialogue, so that's a nice touch. Just keep whittling away at his health, and you'll eventually bring him down.
