Learn about Hitman: Blood Money's controls, including walking, speed walking, running, nudging, and using the inventory menu. Master movement for stealth and efficiency.

This section of the guide covers essential gameplay mechanics in Hitman: Blood Money, including how to interact with your inventory, move Agent 47, and understand your surroundings.

Key Icons:

  • A white circle with a star represents a V.I.P. who may need protection.
  • A circle with an X indicates a dead body.
  • A "!" symbol denotes a Point of Interest, which could be an item location or an action spot.
  • "ICA" marks your ICA Crate.
  • A lightning symbol indicates a Power Switch.

Intel: During a mission, you can purchase Intel from the Objectives screen to gain more information about your surroundings. Up to eight pieces of Intel can be bought, each costing $3,500.

The Inventory Menu

To use any weapon or item, you must first open the Inventory Menu. Select the desired item or weapon and choose 'Equip' to bring it out. Weapons can be holstered using the Holster button. Pressing the Holster button again after holstering will bring the weapon back out. Quickly bringing out and holstering a weapon for later use is known as "Prepping".

Different Ways of Moving About

Agent 47 can move in several ways:

  • Walking: Move the Left Analog Stick forward slightly.
  • Speed Walking: Move the Left Analog Stick forward a bit more (Classic Controls).
  • Running: Move the Left Analog Stick fully forward (Classic Controls) or press the Run Button (Modern Controls). You can run past guards without suspicion if properly disguised or in your suit.
  • Nudging: Incrementally move without entering Sneak Mode by quickly nudging the Left Analog Stick. This is useful for getting closer to objects or keeping doors open.
  • Sneaking: Covered in a later chapter.

Observing Your Surroundings

Pay close attention to the movement patterns of Guards, Civilians, and Targets, as they are very specific and crucial for success. Observing these patterns during your first playthrough of a mission is highly recommended. If a Civilian witnesses you performing an unusual action (like moving a body), they may become alarmed, alert guards, or become a Witness unless eliminated by the end of the mission.
