Learn how to steal cars, use the speed limiter, and shoot from vehicles in Mafia: The Old Country's Part 36 tutorial. Master driving controls for Freeride and missions.
Walkthrough
- 1Approach the driver's side door of the Falconer Yellowcar. The compass will disappear, and an Action button/exclamation point icon will appear.
- 2The instructor will prompt you to pick the lock. Press and hold the Right Mouse Button (RMB) to fill the progress bar as Tommy picks the lock. You can use mouse aim to check for nearby police.
- 3A message will appear: "You've learnt how to steal a Falconer." Tommy can now steal Falconer cars for the rest of the game.
- 4The instructor will tell you to get in the car. Press the RMB to enter. The vehicle's name will appear briefly in the bottom left corner.
- 5The radar will appear in the upper left corner. The instructor explains that the radar shows nearby vehicles and your destination when close.
- 6Drive to the indicated destination. The radar will show a red 'X' when you are close and it will disappear upon arrival.
- 7The instructor explains the speed limiter. Press F5 to toggle it on. When active, a yellow-orange diamond icon with "40" (or "60" after the main story) appears in the bottom right corner. This prevents you from exceeding the speed limit. Drive towards the next destination indicated by the red 'X'.
- 8The instructor explains that you can defend yourself while driving. Scroll to a handgun and press the Left Mouse Button (LMB) to shoot. Use the mouse to aim. Drive so a pedestrian is to the left of the car and shoot until they are killed.
- 9To stop shooting and revert to Empty Hands, press the key to look right or the RMB.
- 10The instructor advises using the car horn to warn pedestrians or other vehicles. Use the Horn key (default K, remapped Left Shift) to clear the way.

Tips
- You can use mouse aim while picking locks to check for nearby police.
- The speed limiter is useful for avoiding tickets, especially since police appear as blue cars on the radar.
- While driving, you can only use handguns from the driver's seat. Shotguns and machine guns can be used from the passenger side.
- To use mouse aim without shooting from the driver's seat, click the LMB without scrolling to a handgun first.
- Using the horn is more effective when approaching vehicles from behind and to their right or left.
You learn how to steal Falconer cars and gain proficiency with driving controls, speed limiter, and shooting from vehicles.
