Homo Avades Boss Guide

Defeat Homo Avades in metaphor refantazio by targeting its heart. Learn its attacks and strategy to get the Avades's Eggshell.

Homo Avades has several attacks, some of which are dependent on its current state.

Attacks:

• Swiping Arc: Both arms sweep across the arena, hitting all characters, potentially multiple times. If both arms are destroyed, this attack misses.
• Oblivion Dust: Inflicts Forget on a character via a horn on the heart, disabling all skills, including Synthesis.
• Hamaon: A medium light-based spell cast by the heart.
• Ambush Assault: Performed by Assailants inside the shell on the turn after the boss gets up from being knocked down. This attack does not occur if the Assailants are depleted of health.
• Shell Regeneration: The boss restores its Shell. The amount restored depends on whether the arms are intact.
• Soul Scream: A rare move, possibly used at low health, which grants the boss four additional turn icons.

Strategy:

1. The main target is the heart at the top of the boss, which represents its health. You cannot reach it with weapons, but magic works.
2. Alternatively, you can reach the heart by knocking down the boss. Target the Shell (main body) and deplete its health to knock the boss down for one turn. It will get up on the following turn.
3. When the boss first gets up, Assailants will appear inside the Shell. If not destroyed, they will perform an attack that hits everyone for decent damage on the boss's next turn.
4. You can damage and destroy the Assailants, though they have significant HP.
5. After the Assailants act or are destroyed, the boss will repair the Shell.
6. After the first Shell repair, the two arms become targets. Destroying both arms prevents the Swiping Arc attack from hitting and reduces the Shell's healing. The Right Hand and Left Hand are both weak to fire.
7. When the boss recovers, Gallica will offer assistance. Accept her offer to deal significant damage to the Assailants, likely defeating them that turn and avoiding their attack. Gallica needs a few turns to use this ability again. Always accept her help.
8. Stick to physical attacks when targeting the heart, as it is strong against all elements. Elemental spells can be used on other parts of the boss.
9. Homo Avades is a war of attrition with moderate damage output.

Tips

• Always accept Gallica's offer to help defeat the Assailants.
• Use physical attacks on the heart and elemental attacks on the arms.
• The Assailants have a lot of HP, so focus on them when they appear.
