Learn how to connect My Pokemon Ranch to Pokemon Diamond and Pearl, understand its features, and discover how to obtain special Pokemon through trades with Hayley.

Walkthrough
  1. 1
Start My Pokemon Ranch: Complete the initial tutorial and select your Miis. Hayley will then place six Pokémon in the ranch, granting you access.
  2. 2
Connect to DS: Access the menu by pressing A. Click the DS icon in the upper left corner to initiate the connection process.
  3. 3
Prepare DS: Turn on your Nintendo DS with Pokémon Platinum (or Diamond/Pearl) and navigate to the start screen.
  4. 4
Establish Connection: Select "Connect to Wii" on your DS. If the option doesn't appear, press B to return to the selection screen and try again.
  5. 5
Connection Options: Once connected, you will have four options:
    • Transfer: Move Pokémon from your game boxes to the ranch. The number you can transfer depends on your ranch's level.
  6. 6
Withdraw: Return Pokémon from the ranch to your game boxes. You can only withdraw your own Pokémon or those traded from Hayley.
  7. 7
Save: Save progress in both My Pokemon Ranch and your DS game.
  8. 8
    See ya!: End the connection.
Tips
  • You do not need to be at a Pokémon Center to transfer Pokémon to My Pokemon Ranch, but only Pokémon in your PC boxes can be transferred, not those in your party.
  • A Pokémon cannot be transferred if it knows a necessary HM and is the only Pokémon in your party or boxes that knows that HM.

Obtainable Pokémon:

Hayley offers trades for up to 22 additional Pokémon. There are two ways to initiate these trades:

  1. Request Trades: Hayley will provide requests requiring you to transfer specific Pokémon from your DS game to the ranch. Completing a request usually earns you another. Occasionally, Hayley will offer one of her Pokémon in exchange for one of yours.
  2. Special Trades: These are rare and become available after reaching a certain number of Pokémon in your ranch. Hayley will introduce a special Pokémon the following day, often with a unique request (e.g., trading a Leafeon for a Phione once you have 250 Pokémon in the ranch).
