Discover how to furnish your Villa in Pokémon Diamond and Pearl, unlock new visitors, and find the legendary Uxie at Lake Acuity. A complete guide to the Resort Area.

The Villa is a new part of the Resort Area, acting as a non-underground base. You can customize it with furniture purchased from a catalog and occasionally receive visitors.

The catalog is located on the table in the middle of the Villa. Items are expensive and may require multiple Elite Four rematches and trainer battles to afford. Below is a list of items, their costs, requirements, and the visitors they attract:

Uxie and Lake Acuity

After beating the Distortion World on Mt. Coronet and speaking with Professor Rowan, Uxie and the other legendary lake Pokémon will appear in the caves at the center of each Sinnoh lake. To reach Lake Acuity, you need the HM Surf and must travel to the top of Route 207 (it's easier to fly to Snowpoint City and travel from there).

Recommended Items:

  • 25 of each: Dark Balls, Timer Balls, Quick Balls
  • 20 of each: Max Potions, Full Heals, Revives

Recommended Pokémon:

  • A Pokémon with Dark or Ghost-type moves (Dark-types are best).
  • A Pokémon that knows False Swipe (e.g., Sneasel or Scyther, or taught via TM from Veilstone Department Store).

Legendary Pokémon: Uxie

Level: 50
Type: Psychic

Info: Uxie is the Defender of the legendary trio, boasting higher Defense. It primarily uses support moves like Amnesia (to raise Special Defense) and Yawn (to induce sleep the following turn). Future Sight is a delayed attack, and Confusion is its Psychic-type move. Dark-type Pokémon are effective against Uxie, as Confusion and Future Sight do not affect them, though they can still be affected by Yawn. Uxie's Levitate ability makes it immune to Ground-type moves.

Strategy: Bring a Sneasel or Weavile capable of learning Blizzard or Ice Beam to potentially freeze Uxie. Thunder Wave from an Electric-type Pokémon is also an option. Use False Swipe to reduce Uxie's HP to 1 without fainting it. Then, use Ultra Balls, Dark Balls (if it's nighttime), Timer Balls (after 30 turns), or Quick Balls (at the start of the battle) to capture it. Uxie and the other lake Pokémon have a low catch rate (3), so expect a lengthy battle.
