To change your screen resolution in Quake, you can use the in-game console. Press the [~] key to open the console and type 'vid_describemodes'. This command will list 10 available video modes. By default, you start on the lowest video mode. To switch to a higher screen resolution, type 'vid_mode x', replacing 'x' with the number of the desired video mode (e.g., 'vid_mode 10').

Alternatively, you can access these settings through the main menu. Navigate to Options, then select Video Options to change the resolution.

To access high resolution graphics modes in Quake, you will need a copy of SciTech DisplayDoctor. This program is shareware and allows you to use SVGA modes.
