Walkthrough

You'll start by activating a bridge. Once it's up, head all the way across to the other side. After you turn left and go down a ramp into a room, look up. You'll see a ledge just above you. To reach it, take the other ramp out of this room. On the right side of that ramp, against the wall, there are some blocks that look like they might be stairs. You can actually just walk right up them like a normal staircase. There are some nice items waiting for you up there.

Later on, you'll be riding platforms across a water chasm. As you pass several ledges, keep an eye out for a specific small one. It's the last one you'll pass before the moving platform heads towards the area with the button that raises the main bridge. Jump onto this small platform. Doing so will open up walls, leading you to a huge collection of power-ups and ammo.

This is a secret found within the area described in step #2. Once you're in that secret spot, look for a room. Shoot the light that's farthest to the left, located at the base of the wall on the left side of the room. This will open a small closet containing a 666 Armor pickup. Grab it!

After you've ridden the platforms and raised the bridge to cross the water chasm, you'll enter a rising platform. This will take you to a small, square room. Notice that one of the six lights in this room is yellow instead of white. Shoot that yellow light, and a door will open, revealing the Invulnerability power-up. Don't miss it!

Secret Level Access:

Towards the end of the level, you'll go down a long stairway. At the bottom of this stairway is the Lightning Gun. Once you have it, turn around and look behind the stairs you just came down. You'll see two ledges overlooking a hole. Jumping into this hole will take you to the secret level. Make sure you're ready before you commit!

Tips

Keep an eye on your ammo, especially when dealing with multiple enemies.
Don't be afraid to backtrack a little if you think you missed something; some secrets are well hidden.
The Invulnerability is great for clearing out tough spots quickly.
