[3-6-4] Platforms or Lifts

Learn how platforms move in Quake's shareware and registered versions, and how to activate them.

Platforms in the shareware version of Quake exclusively ascend and descend. In the registered version of Quake, platforms follow tracks around an area or a level. All platforms in Quake can follow arbitrarily defined paths, though this capability is not fully utilized in the shareware version, with platforms only moving up and down.

How to Activate: To activate a platform, walk on it, or press a nearby switch.

Resetting: Most platforms will not reset until you step off of them.
