Learn how to move, use the map, open doors, and interact with treasure chests and transporters in Rogue Company.

Walkthrough
  1. 1
Use the movement controls to move your character around the field and during battle.
  2. 2
Press a button to reset the camera to face the same direction as you.
  3. 3
Press a button to change to first-person view (first-person view) to see things as your character sees them. Press the button again to return to normal camera view.
  4. 4
When in the field, a minimap (minimap) on the display shows your location and the surrounding area.
  5. 5
Press a button to open an expanded area map. During your initial visit, the area map will only display areas you have explored.
  6. 6
Scroll the area map in any direction with a control.
  7. 7
A yellow star on the map is a Next-Episode Marker indicating where to go to advance the story. If the Marker is blue, the location you need to reach to advance the story may be at a different height.
  8. 8
When the Next-Episode Marker is far away, a red arrow on the area map indicates the general direction you must travel to reach your next objective.
  9. 9
If a door can be opened, an arrow indicator appears above it when you approach. Use a button to open the door and pass through. Some doors are locked and may become open later in the story.
  10. 10
Stand in a Thinking Circle (Thinking Circle) where a "?" appears and press a button to obtain a hint about what is needed to proceed.
  11. 11
Press a button while standing in front of a Treasure Chest to open it. Be careful, as some beasts take the form of Treasure Chests.
  12. 12
Some chests require a specific key, while others may be booby-trapped with Bomb Traps (HP damage), Cursed Traps (lose AP), or Thief's Traps (lose money).
  13. 13
Remove traps by identifying them before opening or using a "Trap Canceller" item.
  14. 14
Pass over a Transporter (Transporter) to activate it, indicated by a blue glow. Outside of battle, this restores HP, AP, and Sub-Weapon energy.
  15. 15
Press a button while standing on an activated Transporter to Save your progress, Teleport to other activated Transporters or the Dorgenark, Exchange Points, or access Item Storage.
  16. 16
Activating all Transporters on a planet reveals missed Treasure Chests on the area map.
  17. 17
In towns, you can recover at Transporters, buy and sell items at shops, and talk to people.
  18. 18
Shops have limited quantities of items, which may restock or add new items as you progress. Items created in the Factory can be bought at certain shops.
  19. 19
Traveling merchants with "Shop" above their heads also allow buying and selling.
  20. 20
Approach a person and press a button to talk. People with colored bubbles above them offer important information.
  21. 21
A blue bubble indicates information about a side quest.
  22. 22
An orange bubble identifies someone who can provide a blueprint for creating an item in the Factory.
  23. 23
The pirate ship, Dorgenark, serves as the party's rallying point and can travel to other parts of the galaxy.
  24. 24
On the Dorgenark's Bridge, press a button at the helm to bring up the Galaxy Map and choose a destination.
  25. 25
The Dorgenark has a Transporter on the bridge and deck for moving between them or teleporting to a planet where it is docked.
  26. 26
Use the Galaxy Map at the Dorgenark's helm to choose new destinations as you progress, though story events may dictate your itinerary.
  27. 27
During story events (Story Events), press a button to pause the game and another button to skip the event, but be aware you might miss important information.
Tips
  • Use the first-person view to get a closer look at your surroundings, but remember you cannot move while in this view.
  • Pay attention to the red arrow on the area map when objectives are far away to maintain the correct direction.
  • Always check doors for the arrow indicator before approaching to know if they can be opened.
  • If you are unsure what is needed at a Thinking Circle, press the button to get a hint.
  • Be cautious when opening Treasure Chests, as they may contain traps or even mimic enemies.
  • Activating Transporters not only provides recovery and save options but also helps you find hidden items later.
  • Talk to everyone in towns, especially those with colored bubbles, for valuable information and blueprints.
  • The Dorgenark is your central hub; utilize its Transporters and the Galaxy Map frequently.
  • Consider skipping story events only if you are confident you won't miss crucial plot details.
