Salgin Residential Area

After your battle with Mark VIII Salamander, you have control of Jaster at the south end of the Residential Area. The gate ahead leads to the desert where Dorgengoa's ship is moored. You may want to use the Transporter in the southeast corner of the Residential Area to recover and save your game.

You will find several chests in the Residential Area and at the Spaceport to the north. Outside a residence in the northwest corner of the Residential Area square is a chest that contains a Recharge Drink. Open two more chests set back from the path on the east side of the square to find a Silver Bangle and Dreamflower Ash x3.

Go through the gate to the north and follow the road to the Rosa: Spaceport. Inside you will find a chest with Heal Potion x2 to the west and one with Iron Board x2 to the east. Take the escalator up to the dock area. Activate the Transporter here and check the corner to the west for a chest that holds a Snow Crest. There are two chests against the wall on the east side. You can open one to obtain Tri-Heal x3, but the other requires the Earth Key and you will have to open it later.

There are two shops in the Residential Area, an Item Shop and a Weapon Shop. Stock up on recovery items or buy some new weapons for your party. The Item Shop in Salgin proper has added a couple of new weapons as well. Make sure you save at least 200z to rent a Yago to cross the desert.

If you teleport to the Transporter Near the Church, you will see that three new chests have appeared. The first is just across the bridge west of the Transporter. It holds a Cumulus Pendant. The other two are outside the church. The chest on the south side of the church steps contains Resurrection x2. Approach the chest by the south town wall near the church and a message will pop up warning you that the chest is trapped. You can safely open a trapped chest and get the item inside if you correctly identify the type of trap. This one has a "Cursed Trap." Inside the chest is a Cold Spray, a new weapon for Simon.

Stop in at the church and you can view a scene with Raul, the priest.

Once you leave Rosa, you won't be able to return for a while. You may want to spend some time in Salgin fighting enemies to meet your quotas in The Hunting Record. You will likely hit the quotas for some enemies very easily, while other enemies appear more rarely. Refer to The Hunting Record section of this guide for good spots to find certain enemies. While increasing your quota counts, you also will be raising the Skill Level of the weapons you equip. Raise the Skill Level of a weapon to "MAX" and you will be able to use it later to synthesize a better weapon.

When you are ready to continue, head toward the Next Episode Marker at the south end of the Residential Area. You will see a man with a yago near the town gate. On the opposite side of the gate is a trapped chest. Remove the Bomb trap an take the Izerium inside. Talk to Katahari and rent one of his yagos. This will prompt a series of scenes and you will see the game's opening credits.
