Learn how to hunt Quarries in Rogue Company, including where to find Quarry Sheets, how to lure them, and strategies for defeating each Quarry for valuable rewards and Hunter Points.

Complete the Chapter 5 story events on Zerard and you can begin hunting Quarries. This endeavor is entirely optional, but defeating Quarries rewards you with a large amount of Hunter Points to raise your Hunter Ranking. Quarries also drop valuable weapons and equipment.

To hunt a Quarry, you first need to buy its Quarry Sheet from Faye at the back of the Galaxy Corporation reception area. She will have a couple of Quarries on the Most Wanted List to begin with and new Quarries will be added as the story progresses.

Information from the Quarry Sheet appears in the Quarries tab of the Battle Recorder menu heading. Go to the location described on the Quarry Sheet and you will see a Thinking Circle. (Note that the Thinking Circle won't appear unless you have purchased the Quarry Sheet.)

Press while standing in the Thinking Circle and you will receive a hint about the specific item you need to hold up to lure the Quarry. Use the proper item and the Quarry will appear and the battle will be joined.

Check back with Faye as new story chapters begin to pick up new Quarry Sheets. Hunt all the Quarries on the Most Wanted List and MIO will reward you with the Sun's Beloved Wear for Lilika.

You need to use jump attacks from in front of the beast to deal any damage. Activate Jaster's Illusion Sword to increase his attack power and enable him to keep some distance between him and Flabbergazer. Use Tri-Heals when the party's HP drops below half.

Strategy: Paul the Ripper is one of the most dangerous Quarries and is best attempted when you can choose the members of your battle party. Pick party members who know attack-boosting abilities:
- Zegram - Drunken Burst
- Lilika - Warrior God's Cry
- Simon - Gelanamin X
- Jupis - Aromatic Boost
Paul will headbutt you or attack with his huge hammer. An overhead swing or a leaping smash with his hammer can deal critical damage and inflict Dazed status on multiple party members if they are in range.
Have Jaster activate Illusion Sword while both of the other characters use their attack boosts. The attack-boosting abilities stack and will double the increase in the party's attack power. One of the good things about Illusion Sword is that it can attack through anything. Keep the stairs and raised dais between Jaster and Paul the Ripper to deal significant damage while staying out of range of his attacks.
Renew any of the three abilities when they wear off. Save Jaster's action gauge for attacking by having the other party members use items to keep the party's HP up. This strategy will prove useful against many a tough foe you face throughout the game.
