Battlefield Hardline Enforcer class guide: Shotguns and battle rifles. Unlock the 870P Magnum at the start.

Walkthrough
  1. 1
The Enforcer class is Battlefield Hardline's equivalent to the Support class from earlier games.
  2. 2
Choose between shotguns for close-quarters combat or battle rifles for medium-range engagements.
  3. 3
While LMGs (Light Machine Guns) were originally planned for the Enforcer, they are not standard loadout weapons to maintain game setting authenticity.
  4. 4
LMGs can still be found as Battle Pickups and as car upgrades ("junk in the trunk").
  5. 5
Generic weapons (see Section 08) can also be equipped.
Tips
  • The 870P Magnum is available at the start for both factions and comes equipped with a tactical light.
  • The 870P Magnum has a low rate of fire (around 80 RPM) and a capacity of 6+1 shells.
  • Each 12-gauge pellet from the 870P Magnum does a maximum of 25 damage, requiring four pellets for a one-hit kill at short range.
  • Damage per pellet for the 870P Magnum drops to a minimum of 6 after 20 meters.
  • Stat changes on PC during the beta in February 2015 reduced the damage drop-off start for the 870P from 12 to 10 meters and the drop-off end from 25 to 20 meters.
  • In the June 16 patch, the damage drop-off start distance for the 870P, SPAS-12, and Stakeout was increased from 12 to 20 meters.
  • Shotguns fire shot, with standard ammo being buckshot. The number of pellets and scatter cone vary between guns.
  • Unlike most shotguns where shells are loaded individually, the Saiga uses detachable magazines for faster reloads.
  • Slugs can be unlocked as an accessory, and Breaching Rounds are available in the Criminal Activity (DLC (downloadable content — extra missions or items released after launch)).
  • The classic lever-action 1887 shotgun is also available (see Section 08a) and can be used by any class.
  • It is theoretically possible to achieve a hit accuracy stat greater than 100% with a shotgun if multiple targets are hit with a single round.
