Battlefield Hardline Professional kit uses bolt-action and semi-auto sniper rifles. Learn about their damage and mechanics.

Walkthrough
  1. 1
The Professional kit is the equivalent of the Recon class from previous titles.
  2. 2
Unlike Battlefield 4, where only bolt-action snipers were locked to Recon, Battlefield Hardline reverts to the Battlefield 3 model, allowing the Professional kit access to both bolt-action and semi-auto sniper rifles.
  3. 3
You can also equip any generic weapons available (see Section 08).

Bolt-Action Sniper Rifles

Bolt-action sniper rifles offer slow but highly accurate fire at long ranges, typically using large-caliber rounds for high damage.

In Battlefield Hardline, only the Scout Elite and R700 have zero spread for stationary aimed fire, while others like the AWM have very good accuracy (e.g., 0.005 ADS spread). All bolt-action snipers have zero spread increase (SIPS), meaning no loss of accuracy on rapid follow-up shots.

Damage Profiles:

  • .308 Winchester (R700 LTR and 388-Recon): Max Damage 100.0, Damage Drop-Off 30m to 100m, Min Damage 59.0
  • .300 Win. Magnum (AWM): Max Damage 100.0, Damage Drop-Off 50m to 80m, Min Damage 50.0
  • .300 Blackout (.300 Knockout): Max Damage 100.0, Damage Drop-Off 50m to 80m, Min Damage 50.0
  • .338 Lapua Magnum (M98B): Max Damage 100.0, Damage Drop-Off 50m to 125m, Min Damage 51.0
  • 5.56x45mm NATO (Scout Elite): Max Damage 75.0, Damage Drop-Off 45m to 90m, Min Damage 51.0

Note: These are console damage stats.

Patched: In the Criminal Activity update on June 16, the damage drop-off start distance for the R700 and AWM was increased from 12.5 to 30 meters.

Notes on Sniper Damage:

  • All bolt-action sniper rifles can achieve a one-shot (headshot (a shot that lands on the enemy's head, usually an instant kill)) kill at any range due to the headshot damage multiplier.
  • Most bolt-actions with a max damage of 100 can achieve a one-hit kill on the upper torso or arms before damage drop-off begins.
  • At other distances, these rifles will result in a two-hit kill on body shots. Rifles with higher damage and longer drop-offs have a better chance of a one-shot kill on wounded targets.
  • In Hardcore mode (60 health), bolt-actions can achieve body shot kills at long ranges. The Scout Elite can kill with one shot up to 73 meters.
  • The Mechanic kit's Armored Insert reduces damage to the chest.

Mechanics:

  • After each shot with a bolt-action rifle, you must chamber the next round by tapping R2 (fire) or temporarily releasing L2 (ADS), which briefly exits the aimed scope view. This can be avoided by equipping the straight-pull bolt attachment.
  • Scopes with 6x magnification or higher will exhibit
