Compare Battlefield Hardline sniper rifles: Scout Elite, R700 LTR, and AWM. Learn unlock requirements and stats.

Suppressors can hinder long-range sniping in Battlefield Hardline by reducing muzzle velocity, making it harder to hit moving targets and increasing bullet drop. While they prevent you from appearing on enemy minimaps (radar (your minimap with nearby blips and threats marked)), at long ranges, you're likely already out of their range. A flash hider is a better alternative for concealing muzzle flash.

In addition to the bolt-action rifles detailed below, the suppressed AWS and the M1903 are available for any class.

Scout Elite

  • Ammo: 5.56x45mm
  • Capacity: 10+1
  • Fire-rate: 53 RPM (reduced by almost 30% in a patch on November 3, 2015, but still faster than other bolt-action rifles)
  • Reload: 2.85 secs
  • Unlocks: Available at start for both factions

The Scout Elite is a capable bolt-action sniper rifle, offering a one-hit headshot (a shot that lands on the enemy's head, usually an instant kill) kill at any range. It boasts the highest rate of fire among bolt-action snipers, the fastest muzzle velocity, double the magazine capacity, and quicker reloads with less recoil compared to the R700 LTR and AWM. It comes equipped with a 6x scope, straight-pull bolt, and flash hider. The Scout Elite experiences less bullet-drop than the R700 but more than the AWM. The Elite variant features a heavier, longer barrel, extended scope rail, larger bolt handle, and an adjustable cheek piece. Despite commonly being seen in 7.62mm, the Battlefield Hardline version uses the 5.56mm round, similar to many assault rifles.

R700 LTR

  • Ammo: .308 Win
  • Capacity: 5+1
  • Fire-rate: 51 RPM (feels closer to 40 RPM)
  • Reload: 3.38 secs
  • Unlocks: $48,000 (cops) / get 1,250 kills with it and buy license (criminals)

The R700 LTR and AWM offer a max damage of 100, resulting in a one-hit chest-shot kill out to 30 meters. They also have a lower gravity stat (9.81 m/s²) which reduces bullet drop and the option to equip powerful .338 Magnum rounds. Compared to the criminals' AWM, the R700 has faster reloads and less recoil. The R700 comes equipped with an 8x rifle scope. In the Criminal Activity update on June 16, the damage drop-off start distance for the R700 and AWM was increased from 12.5 to 30 meters.

AWM

  • Ammo: .300 Win Mag
  • Capacity: 5+1
  • Fire-rate: 39 RPM
  • Reload: 3.50 secs
  • Unlocks: $51,000 (criminals) / get 1,250 kills with it and buy license (cops)

The AWM features a slow rate of fire, more recoil than other snipers, and slow reloads, with its long reload being one second longer than the R700's.

Tips
  • For long-range sniping, the Scout Elite is often the best choice due to its high rate of fire, fast muzzle velocity, and good capacity, especially since it's available for both factions from the start.
  • If you need a one-hit chest-shot kill out to 30 meters, the R700 LTR or AWM are better options than the Scout Elite.
  • Consider the unlock costs and kill requirements carefully when deciding which sniper rifle to pursue. Unlocking attachments for the Scout Elite can be easier than for two other rifles.
  • A flash hider is recommended over a suppressor for long-range sniping to manage muzzle flash without sacrificing projectile velocity.
  • The Professional class reputation perk 'Hold Breath' can extend your aiming duration.
