Learn about the MG36 and M240B Battle Pickups in Battlefield Hardline. Discover their stats, damage, and how to find them on the map.
Battle Pickups were introduced in BF4 as a way to include powerful weapons that are not freely available. Instead of unlocking and equipping them, they can only be collected on the battlefield from weapon cases marked with a map icon. Each pickup weapon comes with a limited amount of ammo and cannot be resupplied. If you switch to another gun or a gadget, the pickup will be dropped but can be picked up again.
This section covers the MG36 and the M240B, two light machineguns (LMGs) available as Battle Pickups online. Notes for other pickup weapons are also included, but rocket-launchers and missile-launchers are not covered in this firearms guide.
The M240 and MG36 use standard NATO rifle and intermediate loads.
| Ammunition | Max. Damage | Damage Drop-Off | Min. Damage | Weapons |

(These are console damage stats; for PC stats, refer to Sym.gg)
Patched: The M240's minimum damage was increased from 24 to 25 in the April 28, 2015 patch, and its damage drop-off range was extended from 20-50 meters to 30-60 meters in the Robbery update on September 16, 2015.
Kills obtained with the LMGs or the Nail Gun are not tracked on your Battlelog profile or unofficial bfhstats.com. This can be frustrating if you are working on the trophy for 100 Nail Gun kills.
The data files for Hardline include stats for the M249 and MG4 LMGs, but these weapons are not playable in the game. Technically, the ARM, RPK, and RPK74 are also LMGs but have smaller ammo capacities and are included as "heavy assault rifles" in Operator class loadouts.
MG36
- Ammo: 5.56x45mm
- Capacity: 100+1
- Fire-rate: 750 RPM
- Reload: 3.10 secs
- Unlocks: N/A (Battle Pickup) or $75,600 (car upgrade)
The "LMG Armory" option can be bought and equipped onto both sedan and coupe cars, placing an MG36 pickup in the car's trunk.
Summary: The MG36 uses the same 5.56mm NATO rounds as many carbines and assault rifles but has a unique damage profile, providing a four-hit kill out to 36 meters and a five-hit kill beyond that (if all shots hit the chest/arms). Its main advantage is the 100-round drum magazine. Reloading takes longer than lighter magazine-fed weapons, with the MG36's long reload taking 1.5 seconds longer, so try to keep at least one round in the weapon. With its 750 RPM fire-rate, you can fire it continuously for eight seconds.
It experiences heavy recoil, with its left recoil at 0.7 (the highest).
