M4 Shotgun: This semi-automatic shotgun has a similar magazine size to the SPAS-12 but fires slower (around 130 RPM). It is assumed to have higher pellet count or damage. The M4 comes without any attachments.

Battle Rifles Overview: Battle rifles are military rifles using full-caliber rounds (e.g., 7.62mm NATO), unlike assault rifles with intermediate loads. They typically deal about 70% more damage than assault rifles but have smaller magazines and fire slower. They also have roughly double the vertical recoil, making attachments like the muzzle brake or heavy barrel advisable. However, they feature very low first-shot recoil multipliers.

Battle Rifle Stats and Patches: In the November 3, 2015 patch, the muzzle velocity for most battle rifles was standardized at 700 m/s. This significantly buffed the SCAR-H and SG510, and slightly buffed the HK51 and FAL. The SA58 retained its high velocity (840 m/s), and the HCAR remained at 600 m/s. In the April 28 patch, the minimum damage for all battle rifles was increased from 24 to 25. The HCAR's long-range drop-off distances were standardized with the FAL in the November 3 update.

Battle Rifle Damage Profiles: All battle rifles share the same max and min damage values, with a three-hit kill potential up to 36 meters (one headshot). The FAL and HCAR have slightly later damage drop-off. The high minimum damage allows for a four-hit kill (body shots), a three-hit kill (one headshot), or a two-hit kill (two headshots) at longer ranges.

SCAR-H: This battle rifle uses 7.62x51mm ammunition, has a capacity of 20+1 rounds, a fire rate of 625 RPM, and a reload time of 1.90 seconds. It unlocks for $26,400 (cops) or by getting 1,250 kills and buying a license (criminals). Compared to the HCAR and SG510, the SCAR-H has the highest rate of fire but also the heaviest recoil. It maintains rapid reload times from BF4 and has the lowest spread increase per shot (SIPS) in its category.
