This section details three firearms available in Battlefield Hardline: the SOCOM16, the SR25 ECC, and the PTR91.

SOCOM16

The SOCOM comes equipped with the M145 3.4x scope.

Trivia:

• The Springfield Armory SOCOM16 is a modern, shortened, lightweight variant of their own M1A from 1974, which is a civilian version of the M14 used by the US military until replaced by the M16 during the Vietnam War.
• The standard SOCOM16 has a short scope rail, while the SOCOM II model features a full quad rail system for attachments.
• SOCOM stands for "Special Operations COMmand," and 16 refers to the barrel length in inches, the shortest permitted without registration under US law.
• In January 2016, Springfield Armory unveiled the SOCOM16 CQB model with a remodelled stock, accessory rails, an adjustable tactical AR buttstock, a pistol grip, and an optional red-dot sight.
• The Springfield M1A is the basis for the bullpup SRSS Bulldog 762, which was added to BF4 in the Dragon's Teeth DLC.

Summary:

The SR25 has average stats for its category. It's a good choice for the police faction due to the SOCOM16's excessive spread increase. The recoil pattern has a distinct pull to the right, typical of M16-type weapons in Battlefield titles, but should reset between burst shots.

Trivia:

• The Knight's Armament Company (KAC) SR25 is a modern 7.62mm marksman rifle developed by Eugene Stoner, based on his AR10 and AR15/M16 designs. SR stands for Stoner Rifle, and 25 is the sum of 10 and 15.
• The SR25 ECC (Enhanced Combat Carbine) was part of KAC's Commercial & Law Enforcement range. The "Enhanced" series has been superseded by "Advanced" models like the SR25E2 ACC and SR25E2 APC.
• The Enhanced range had standard Picatinny rails, while the Advanced series features KeyMod slots. KAC also showcased Advanced models with Magpul's M-Lok system.
• The SR25 was featured in BF3 and BF4 as the Mk 11 Mod 0. The US Army adopted a similar design by KAC as the M110 SASS to replace their M24 bolt-action rifles.
• The SR25 was mentioned in a season 2 episode of Better Call Saul.
• The M110K5 battle rifle was added to Hardline with the free Blackout DLC.

Summary:

The PTR has half the aimed accuracy of other semi-auto snipers in the base game, but this is manageable at most ranges. It has balanced horizontal recoil with no significant pull to either side. It boasts the highest muzzle velocity among the four base game semi-auto snipers and has a fast long reload time. It was chosen over the Saiga for its longer damage drop-off, higher velocity, and its resemblance to the G3.

Patched:

In the April 28 patch, the vertical ADS recoil was reduced by approximately one-third for both the Saiga and the PTR, bringing them closer to the SOCOM and SR25 figures.

Trivia:

• The PTR91 (Precision Target Rifle) reuses the design of the HK91, a semi-auto civilian version of the Heckler & Koch G3. It is manufactured by PTR Industries in South Carolina using the same machinery that produced the Portuguese military versions of the G3.
• PTR Industries offers forty models, including modernized variants with scope and accessory rails, sniper models resembling the PSG1, and G3 replicas with olive drab or wooden furniture.
• They also offer an SBR variant with a short barrel and an MP5-style collapsible stock, firing the same 7.62mm caliber, similar in concept to the HK51.
• The long reload animation for Hardline's PTR includes the "HK Slap" of the G3 and MP5, where the charging handle is pulled back and locked to hold the bolt rearward while the magazine is removed.
