Recommended Loadout

• Plane Shot: The default Peashooter is generally effective due to its consistent damage and range. However, the Bomb shot can be incredibly useful in specific phases for its area-of-effect damage, particularly against the Baby Birds.
• Super Art: Energy Beam is a solid choice for its high damage output, especially when Wally is stationary or during the final phase.
• Charm: For a plane boss, charms are less impactful as parrying opportunities are scarce.
  • Heart Ring: While parrying is limited, there are still a few pink projectiles (Wally's eggs, some baby bird projectiles) that can be parried. If you're confident in your parrying skills, the Heart Ring can provide crucial health regeneration. However, its utility is significantly diminished compared to ground-based fights.
  • P. Sugar: This charm automatically parries the first parryable object you touch, which can be a lifesaver for those tricky pink eggs.
  • Twin Heart: If you're struggling with survivability and don't rely on parries, the extra HP from Twin Heart can make a difference, though it comes at the cost of reduced damage.

Phase 1: Wally's Nest Assault

Wally begins the fight perched in his nest, launching a barrage of projectiles.

• Attacks:
  • Egg Barrage: Wally spits out a stream of eggs that travel in a straight line. Some of these eggs will be pink and parryable.
  • Feather Spread: Wally will occasionally release a fan of feathers that spread outwards.
  • Baby Bird Formations: Smaller birds will fly across the screen in various formations (e.g., straight lines, waves).
• Strategy:
  • Dodge the Eggs: The eggs are your primary concern. Weave between them. If you have Heart Ring or P. Sugar, try to parry the pink eggs for extra EX meter and potential health.
  • Feather Weaving: The feathers are generally easy to dodge by moving up or down.
  • Focus Fire: Keep your finger on the trigger. Wally is a large target in this phase.
  • Bomb Shot Utility: If you're using the Bomb shot, dropping bombs on Wally can deal significant damage, especially if you can aim them precisely.

Phase 2: Aerial Acrobatics

Wally takes to the skies, becoming more aggressive and introducing new maneuvers.

  • Dive Attack: Wally will periodically dive across the screen, attempting to ram you. This is his most dangerous attack in this phase.

Wally retreats, and his offspring take center stage, launching a chaotic assault.

• Attacks:
  • Projectile Volley: Numerous baby birds will fly in from the sides of the screen, firing small projectiles. Some of these projectiles may be pink and parryable.
  • Formation Flying: The baby birds will often fly in tight formations, making them harder to avoid.
• Strategy:
  • Prioritize the Birds: Your main goal here is to clear out the baby birds as quickly as possible. Each bird you eliminate reduces the number of projectiles on screen.
  • Bomb Shot Advantage: This is where the Bomb shot truly shines. Its area-of-effect damage can clear multiple birds with a single well-placed bomb. Switch to it if you have it equipped.
  • Shrink and Weave: The screen can become incredibly cluttered. Don't be afraid to shrink frequently to navigate through the dense projectile patterns.
  • Parry for EX: If you see pink projectiles, parry them to build your EX meter for a Super Art in the next phase.

Phase 4: The Ambulance Escape

Wally, now severely injured, is wheeled away in an ambulance, but the fight isn't over yet.

  • Pill Projectiles: The ambulance will launch a continuous stream of pills that bounce around the screen.
  • Syringe Attack: Occasionally, a large syringe will be fired, traveling in a straight line.
  • Doctor's Head: The doctor driving the ambulance will sometimes stick his head out, firing small projectiles.

  • Bullet Hell Navigation: This phase is a classic bullet hell. The pills bounce erratically, making consistent dodging challenging.
  • Shrink Constantly: Shrinking is absolutely essential here. It allows you to weave through the tight gaps created by the bouncing pills.
  • Focus on the Ambulance: Your target is the ambulance itself. Keep firing your main shot.
