Super Art I, the Energy Beam, is the first of three ultimate abilities available to Cuphead and Mugman, offering a powerful offensive option that can devastate enemies. This ability consumes the entire super meter, which is built by dealing damage, taking damage, and performing parries. Mastering the Energy Beam's timing and application can significantly shorten boss fights and provide crucial moments of respite.

The Energy Beam fires a concentrated, long-range blast that deals substantial damage. It's particularly effective against bosses that are stationary or have large hitboxes. To activate it, you must have a full super meter (five cards) and press the Super Art button. The beam travels in a straight line, so precise aiming is necessary. Its power lies in its ability to hit multiple times if the boss remains within its path for the duration.

The Energy Beam is most effective when used during a boss's vulnerable phase or when you need to deal a burst of damage quickly. For instance, against bosses like Grim Matchstick or Djimmi the Great, a well-timed Energy Beam can shave off a significant portion of their health. It can also be used to clear out waves of smaller enemies in Run & Gun levels, creating breathing room.

While powerful, the Energy Beam leaves you vulnerable during its animation and firing duration. It's crucial to find safe windows to unleash it. Combining it with the Coffee charm, which passively regenerates meter, can allow for more frequent use, though it still requires a full meter. Learning the optimal moments to deploy the Energy Beam is key to maximizing its impact and leveraging it as a powerful tool in your arsenal.
