After helping the merchant, you'll need to return to Fallgourd Float. Find Kan-E-Senna and hand over the Vial of Creeping Death Remedy you received.

Your final task is to head back to the Adders’ Nest in New Gridania. Speak with the Keeper of the Entwined Serpents there to officially complete the quest.
