Chapter 21 Eternal Stairway

The objective is to escape with all units via the northern exit tiles.

Faceless enemies will continuously respawn from the north and south borders each turn, alternating locations.

These reinforcements carry the Void Curse ability, granting no experience upon defeat, making prolonged fights pointless for leveling.

A new enemy, the Stoneborn, appears with high strength and defense, low resistance, Wary Fighter, and a 5-square attack range. Aim to defeat them quickly to minimize damage.

All Faceless enemies possess Savage Blow, dealing 20% damage to adjacent units after initiating combat. Avoid engaging too many Faceless at once or ensure they can be defeated immediately to prevent Savage Blow from triggering.

Utilize the numerous Dragon Veins scattered across the map. Activating a Dragon Vein freezes all enemies for one turn, significantly easing the encounter with Faceless units and allowing focused attacks on Stoneborns.

Pair up units to improve mobility and defense while navigating the zigzagging path due to rubble. Unpair when necessary for increased offensive power.

Consider sending mobile units south initially to defeat the first wave of Faceless for experience, if willing to risk it. Otherwise, move all units north immediately.

Use Dragon Veins strategically, either every other turn for longevity or back-to-back if immediate threat or enemy proximity requires it.

As you approach the north, be prepared to intercept Void Curse Faceless reinforcements moving south with your strongest units, as they offer no experience.

The boss is a stronger Faceless. Be wary of Faceless enemies forming a wall around the exit, which can waste turns and allow reinforcements to appear.

Ensure all remaining units can escape on the same turn. If a healer is left behind, they can be overwhelmed and defeated, resulting in a loss.
