Learn how to lift items, attack enemies with skills, and throw objects in Phantom Blade Zero. Understand enemy leveling mechanics.
Walkthrough
- 1Lifting Items: Move the cursor to an item within your range of movement and press X. Select "Lift" to be equipped with that item. Press the Circle button to undo this action (unequip).
- Attacking Enemies: Move the cursor to an enemy and press X. Choose "Attack" to see a list of available skills. Press X on a skill to view its range of effect. Once you see a red arrow indicator above the enemy, press X again to initiate the attack.
- 2Attacking Out of Range: If enemies are not within range, HOLD the Square button down. Use the analog stick to move your character towards the enemy while the blue range indicator is still displayed.
- 3Throwing Lifted Items: Once an item is lifted, press X and select "Throw" to throw it. You can lift an item after acting, but you will not be able to throw it.
- Throwing/Knocking Enemies Out of Bounds: Information suggests enemies level up based on the level of the enemy that went out of bounds (OB) and the number of enemies remaining. However, testing indicates this is not the case. Remaining enemies level up randomly; some may gain 1 level, some multiple levels, and others may not level up at all. This has been tested on story maps and in random dungeons.
Tips
- Press the Circle button to quickly unequip a lifted item.
- Hold the Square button to reposition your character towards an enemy if they are out of immediate attack range.
- Enemy leveling when an enemy is knocked out of bounds appears to be random, not directly tied to the OB enemy's level or remaining enemy count.
