Discover all wild Pokemon encounters, hidden items, and trainer trades on Route 226 in Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl. Includes detailed locations and tips.
Route 226 is a postgame area accessible from the Survival Area. It features various wild Pokémon, hidden items, and a unique trade opportunity.
A Fishy Exchange
In a house on Route 226, a hiker will trade you a German-tagged Magikarp for your Finneon. This is beneficial for Masuda breeding, increasing your chances of hatching a shiny Pokémon. Finneon can be found by fishing with the Good Rod, commonly in the south of Route 205 near Floaroma Town.
How to Navigate Route 226
Start from the Survival Area and head north, using Rock Climb to ascend. Dash west to the top of the area near a house; the area to its left contains a hidden Max Revive. Descend, then head south and east through the tall grass.
Use Rock Climb to ascend the left side of the hill. Near an Ace Trainer, Rock Climb up again to find a berry patch with 4 Qualot Berries and 4 Pomeg Berries. Climb down, then immediately Rock Climb down the next wall. Continue east through the tall grass.
At the end, Rock Climb down. Head west to find a Carbos. Return up the hill and Rock Climb up to the center. Go left before the stairs to find a Lagging Tail. Proceed up the stairs and defeat the trainers blocking the path. Rock Climb down to their right to find TM53 Energy Ball.
Climb back to the trainers and Rock Climb down to their left. Continue east through the tall grass until you reach open water. Before surfing, Rock Climb up. In the top-left corner of this area is a hidden Big Mushroom. In the bottom-right corner is a hidden Tiny Mushroom, and near the top-right corner is another Tiny Mushroom. Climb back down.
Surf east, then south along the submerged rocks. Land on a small ledge and inspect the wall to find a hidden Big Pearl. Swim east past a female Swimmer. In the center of the water is a house with a foreign Hiker. Surf north-east from this house to a small landmass; search the bottom of the tree for a hidden PP Up.
Return to the house. To proceed to the next route, swim east from the center of the island. You will reach land with a large grassy field. Heading north leads to Route 227 and Stark Mountain, while heading east leads to Route 228.
