Guide to Prey (2017) Part 28: Navigate The Magnetosphere, find key items like Neuromods and Weapon Upgrade Kits, and shut down the generator.
Walkthrough
- 1In the storage crate, find a Neuromod and a Recycler Charge. Locate the "Subsection Monitor" note.
- 2Outside, collect a Fried Hard Drive and a Test Tube Sample.
- 3Enter a side grate area to find Corroded Coil x3 and a Broken Cooler Fan.
- 4Near the end of the tunnel, choose to either fix the junction panel (Gloo Gun and Repair Skill) or use the broken fan to bypass electricity.
- 5Proceed through the next tunnel, which contains a Corroded Coil and an operator.
- 6In a grated area, find Burnt Circuit Board x2, Spare Parts x3, and a Frayed Wire.
- 7Continue until you receive a call from January about a Plasma Shockwave.
- 8Go past a floating corpse to a workstation containing Medkit x2, Cold Mountain Green Tea x2, Spiralite Cookies, Banana Peel x2, and Psi Hypo x2. Check the supply crate.
- 9Outside this area, find Caladium Plant Stems, the "For You" note, and Agave Plant Clippings x6.
- 10Return to the floating corpse, identified as "Ramon Ridley." Loot him for a Broken Cooler Fan and Spare Parts.
- 11Float upwards to "The Magnetosphere" where gravity returns to normal.
- 12To the left, a toolbox contains Corroded Coil x2, a Suit Repair Kit, and Anti-Rad x2.
- 13To enter the med bay, use the "Mimic" skill to transform into an object near the door. Loot the room for Psi Hypo x3, Petri Dish Sample, Medkit, and Biohazard Waste. A medical operator is also present.
- 14Inside the main room, grab the Wrench. Enter the right room, being mindful of fire.
- 15Be aware of "PLASMA SHOCKWAVES" which cause an EMP effect.
- 16By the first computer, loot "Laurel Davis' Corpse" for the Suit Repair Kit Fabrication Plan, "Transcribe: Laurel Davis," and Agave Plant Clippings x5. The trashcan contains a Lemon Peel and Crumpled Paper. A Silenced Pistol and Agave Plant Clippings x3 are also here.
- 17In the back of the room, find a Medkit and a Weapon Upgrade Kit. A PC in this corner is the security station; download the map, check personnel, and read emails "FW: JOST DALTON MIA???" and "SHIELD GENERATOR MALFUNCTION."
- 18In the nearby toilet, find a science operator, Banana Peel, Biohazard Waste, and two books: "Rising Star" and "The Starbender Cycle: Book 2: My Enemy's Enemy's Enemy."
- 19Under the stairs, find a Corroded Coil and a Broken Cooler Fan. Hack the safe with "Hacking II" for a Weapon Upgrade Kit, Recycler Charge x2, and Spare Parts x5.
- 20Head upstairs. After dealing with Cystoid Nests, loot the room for Frayed Wire x2. On the ceiling, find Used Plastic Tubing and Spare Parts. Break the window near the cargo to find Corroded Coil x2. An entrance to the GENERATOR is present but should not be entered yet.
- 21Return to the lower area and access the locked PC using "Hacking III." Read Laurel's emails: "SHUT IT DOWN" and "RE: I'M FINE."
- 22Access the UTILITIES SECTION to open "Emergency Supplies" and, crucially, SHUT THE GENERATOR DOWN. Save your game.
- 23Enter the generator room and go UP to the emergency supply room. Quickly loot it for Reacitvator X2T-00, Recycler Charge x2, Frayed Wire, Corroded Coil, and Psi Hypo x3.
- 24Find the floating corpse of "Anders Kline." Loot him for the Maintenance Tunnel Keycard, Neuromod x2, and the ARTX Propulsion Gen I chipset.
- 25Use the Maintenance Tunnel Keycard to open the locked door in the Zero-G tunnel.
- 26Proceed into the next tunnel, triggering a scene and a call from January.
- 27At a path split, the objective is to the left. The right path leads to the cargo area but is heavily guarded and low on ammo is not recommended.
Tips
- The med bay requires the "Mimic" skill to enter if you are only using human abilities.
- Be cautious of fire on the floor in one of the rooms.
- Plasma Shockwaves temporarily disable power but are not a permanent threat.
- The generator room is dangerous during a Plasma Shockwave; shut it down before entering.
- Hacking skills "Hacking II" and "Hacking III" are required for certain safes and computers.
- Save your game after shutting down the generator before entering the generator room.
