Part 35

Explore the Cafeteria and Crew Cabins in Prey (2017). Find items, corpses, and emails, and uncover secrets in Part 35 of our walkthrough.

Alright, let's get this next section of Prey done. We're heading into the Cafeteria area, and there's a bunch of loot and a few bodies to check out. Don't worry, we'll get to the unconscious folks later.

First up, we need to deal with a couple of Phantoms. Zap Jillian Quigg first – she's got some [_FRAYED WIRE_] and [_SPARE PARTS_]. Then, further ahead, you'll find Phong Vu, who's carrying a [_BANANA PEEL_]. Once they're dealt with, we can start looting the cafeteria proper.

In the "Reception Area," you'll find the corpse of "Joseph McSorley." He's got a [_BROKEN COOLER FAN_] and [_SPARE PARTS_] on him. This is a HUGE area, so let's break it down. On the left side, look for [_COSMOS FLOWER CUTTINGS x2_]. There's also a trashcan nearby (past the stairs) containing [_EEL SCRAPS_] and [_LEMON PEEL_]. Keep an eye out for three more corpses here: "Chris Wade" with a [_TEST TUBE SAMPLE_], "Neil Warnes" with nothing, and "Dan Billingsly," who has a [_SHAKER LEMON PIE_] and a [_LEMON PEEL_]. There isn't much else on the far left.

Now, let's head over to the right side. You'll find "Colette May-Schultz's" corpse on the way, carrying [_BASEBALL GLOVE x2_]. The serving area on the right looks promising, but it's empty for now. Just a heads-up, you can open the door here to find a locked door labeled "Kitchen Access." Keep exploring the right dining area for [_COSMOS FLOWER CUTTING x8_] – make sure to search all the flower bins. Near "Mitchell's" area, there's another corpse, "Kade Mason," with a [_BANANA PEEL_] and a [_BASEBALL GLOVE_]. I also found another unconscious person next to him.

We'll deal with the unconscious people soon, but for now, let's head upstairs to loot. I went up the right staircase. You'll find "Daisy White's Corpse" with some [_GLUCASSIST!_] and "Thomas Lutz's Corpse" carrying [_FRAYED WIRE_] and some [_SPARE PARTS_]. There might be some living humans up here too. At the far end, check the trashcan for a [_LEMON PEEL_] and a [_BANANA PEEL_]. That covers the non-unconscious folks for now.

Speaking of the unconscious people we can save, here's what they have:

Not a bad haul from them! That's it for looting the cafeteria, so let's head back out to the lobby.

Once you're back in the lobby, check out the elevators. One of them has "Don Davis' Corpse" inside, holding a [_BANANA PEEL_]. Grab it, and then check the trashcans past him for some [_CRUMPLED PAPER_] and another [_BANANA PEEL_]. Now, head back and check out the "Concierge" area. The PC here has the area map and two security reports that you should definitely read. This will update your "Whistleblower" quest:

• OBJECTIVE (Whistleblower): Search Cargo Bay for the secret crate where Quinten Purvis intended to hide.

We can also check Dr. Gallego's pod later, but for now, let's look at the four new emails here:

Make sure to read that last one, as it gives you the [_FITNESS CENTER KEYCODE_]. The door here is locked, but it only requires Hacking II. Go ahead and hack it open. Inside, you'll find "Lia Macy's Corpse" with a [_SUIT REPAIR KIT_] and [_LEMON PEEL_]. There's also [_COSMOS FLOWER CUTTINGS_], a [_BASEBALL GLOVE_], [_SHOTGUN SHELLS x12_], a [_WEAPON UPGRADE KIT_], a [_MEDKIT FABRICATION PLAN_], and a very nice find: [_NEUROMOD x3_].

Head back out and take a right, past the trashcans, to find some flora with [_COSMOS PLANT CUTTINGS x4_] and a toolbox with some [_FRAYED WIRE_]. This is a path split: Crew Cabins A, Crew Cabins B, and the Fitness Center. For now, let's SAVE and go down the left path towards Crew Cabins A.

Crew Cabins A

First, we need to clear out the enemies in this area. Down the hall, there's a Volatic Phantom patrolling. You can sneak up on it and blast it with your shotgun to take it down pretty easily. In the last room on the left, you'll find a bathroom. This bathroom has a Mimic and a Poltergeist. You should definitely scan and kill them; the Poltergeist isn't too threatening, mostly just throwing things. Still, take them both out to make the area safe.

Now, head back to the start of the hallway and let's do some organized looting. To the left, at the beginning of the hallway, there's a crate blocking a vent. You can either use Leverage II to lift it or use a recycler charge to clear it. Once it's unblocked, crawl into "S. Elazar's Room." Inside, you'll find two books: "Survivor's Account of The Evacuation Day 3" and "The Orit." Loot the place after reading them for a [_SHOTGUN_] and a [_SILENCED PISTOL_]. Her PC is also locked, but if you have Hacking II (which you really should by now!), you can hack it. There are four emails, but they're all old. She also has the "Weapon Upgrade Kit Fabrication Plan," but we already have that.

Leave Elazar's room and head down the hallway to the next room on the left, which is Kelstrup's Room. Inside, you'll find [_PETRI DISH SAMPLE x5_], [_TYPHON LURE_], [_HYPO FABRICATION PLAN_], [_VEGGIE BLEND_], and [_KAFE KARSK_]. His PC is unlocked and has two new emails:

• [_EMAIL 108: CANNED PEARS_]
• [_EMAIL 109: ARN'S_]

The next door in the hallway is for "M. Ilyushin," but we can't get in right now. Bummer. Head down to the bathroom. You've likely already dealt with the Mimic and Poltergeist in here. The trashcan contains a [_USED CIGAR_] and [_CRUMPLED PAPER_]. The stalls have [_DUCK BEER x3_] and an [_EMPTY FOOD TIN_]. That's everything in here.

Head back to the hallway. Directly across from the bathroom is "W. Mitchell's Room" – the cook. Remember that security video? Yeah, the faces didn't quite match, did they? Enter the room and you'll find the "Encyclopedia of Food Science and Cooking" book. Break the glass case to find [_JAMON TOMATO x3_] and a single [_SUNBURST BANANA_].
