Part 49

Guide yourself through Prey (2017)'s Waste Processing and Power Plant areas. Discover items, complete quests, and overcome enemies in this detailed walkthrough.

Alright, we're diving into Part 49 of our Prey (2017) walkthrough. We've got a couple of key areas to cover: Waste Processing and the Power Plant. Let's get moving!

First up, head back down to the lower floor and make your way to the elevator labeled "Waste Processing." You've probably heard that Phantom lurking below, so be ready for a fight as soon as you arrive.

Waste Processing

Take out the Phantom that's waiting for you down here. Once the area is clear, we can start looting. Keep an eye out for a whopping nine units of [_EEL SCRAPS_] – grab them all. You'll also find a [_DELIVERY SCHEDULE NOTE_].

Near the entrance of the room, you'll see a console. Interact with it to "Harvest the Eels." This will trigger a swarm of eels to drop down, and unfortunately, a Greater Mimic will join the party. Deal with the Mimic, then examine the eels. You'll find Price Broadway's Corpse nearby. Loot him for a [_BROKEN COOLER FAN_], [_SPARE PARTS_], a [_NEUROMOD_], a [_CORRODED COIL_], a [_METHUSELAH APPLE_], and the [_EEL TANK MAINTENANCE MANUAL NOTE_]. Nice haul!

Completing this also finishes the "Drunk Tank" Side Quest, which is great! Once you're done here, head back up the elevator.

Power Plant

Now, we need to make our way to the Power Plant area. Since the Technopath is dealt with and power is restored, we can proceed. As soon as you enter this area, you'll get a call from Mikhaila, kicking off a new side quest: "Assist Mikhaila Ilyushin." Your objective is to meet her in the Coolant Monitoring station within the Power Plant.

Continue forward. Check the crate on your right for a [_FRAYED WIRE_] and a [_SUIT REPAIR KIT_]. Up ahead, you'll find a security station guarded by three Cyst Nests. Your shotgun should make short work of them. Inside, you'll find a [_WEAPON UPGRADE KIT_], three [_GLOO CANISTERS_], and the "Starbender Cycle Book 5." There's also a PC here; hack it (you'll need Hacking II) to download the area map and unlock the door ahead. Don't forget to grab the two [_KAFE KARSK_] and three [_COLD MOUNTAIN GREEN TEA_] before moving on.

In the next room, you'll encounter "Brenda Cabrera's Corpse." Loot her for a [_BURNT CIRCUIT BOARD_], [_SPARE PARTS_], [_KINGS & WAY SPARKLING WINE_], and 47 [_Q-BEAM CELLS_]. Watch out for a Greater Mimic hiding in here! On the right side of the room, you'll find "Lan Nguyen's Corpse." She has a [_FRAYED WIRE_], a [_WEAPON UPGRADE KIT_], three [_SHOTGUN SHELLS_], and the [_TRANSCRIBE: LAN NGUYEN_]. Listen to it for details on some repair work.

The "Engineering Offices" nearby look a bit rough, but there's a "Grounding Resistor" you can fix. Repair it and carry it over to the sparking resistor nearby to restore power and lights to the offices. Once that's done, head forward and break the glass on the right to grab some [_AGAVE PLANT CLIPPINGS_] and [_USED PLASTIC TUBING_]. Now, **QUICK SAVE** – the room on the left is dangerous, filled with electricity.

To navigate the electrified room safely, get out your Gloo Gun. Enter the room, jump forward, turn left, and shoot a Gloo blob at the junction panel. Repair it for a safe landing. It's still not completely safe, though. A Poltergeist, along with Cysts and a Cyst Nest, are lurking in the back. The best way to reach them is by creating a bridge with your Gloo Gun. From the entrance, aim for the far wall, creating a path. Alternatively, you can use the hanging lights and monitors to traverse the ceiling.

Once you reach the back, take out the Poltergeist and Cysts to clear the area. After the fight, you can loot thoroughly. "Duncan Krassikoff's Corpse" is here, yielding a [_FRAYED WIRE_], [_SPARE PARTS_], the [_TRANSCRIBE: DUNCAN KRASSIKOFF_], the [_TYPHON LURE FABRICATION PLAN_], an [_EMP CHARGE_], a [_NEUROMOD_], and the [_POLYSHIELD CRU[v2]_]. You'll also find a [_SILENCED PISTOL_] and another [_GLOO CANNON_] nearby, along with a [_Q-BEAM FABRICATION PLAN_].

Look for another PC, partially covered by Gloo – clear it off. The "Mal Championship" book is also nearby. This PC has four new emails: [_EMAIL 140: RE: SHIPMENT READY_], [_EMAIL 141: RE: SUITWO TEST_], [_EMAIL 142: RE: A LITTLE HELP_], and [_EMAIL 143: RE: DOME TAKER_]. Seems like this "Rory" character is causing some trouble!

Finally, let's check out one more PC. It's in the water, so you'll need to create a safe spot to access it. It's in the right corner (relative to your entry point). There are two supply crates nearby with a [_BROKEN COOLER FAN_], some [_SPARE PARTS_], and a [_PSI HYPO_]. That wraps up this section!
