Think of me as your experienced buddy walking you through it, no lectures here! ## Basic Information The Rana are a faction in Songs of Conquest, described as "the oppressed swamp frog people rising up to reclaim their mighty heritage." We're still uncovering all their secrets, but here's what we know so far. ## Magic The Rana are seriously strong when it comes to magic, right up there with Loth. While Loth might have more direct damage spells, the Rana have a fantastic variety of magic builds, especially if you focus on Destruction magic. Compared to Arleon's early access to Order and Chaos units, the Rana have two units that really shine: the Riders of the Swamp and the Chelun Elders. Both can be improved with the Dragon Pyramid to get that sweet three single-essence output that Arleon has naturally. * Chelun Elders: These guys are great because they naturally generate extra Arcana essence and have a Charge Essence ability, similar to Necromancers. If you improve them with the Dragon Pyramid, a single stack can give you a whopping 6 Creation essences and 2 Arcane essences! And if your wielder can find Order essences, using the spell Strengthen Essence doubles that output. This means you can easily blanket the enemy with Acid Cloud spells and then keep them stuck in it with Entangle and Repel. Dimensional Door is also super helpful for moving your Chelun Elder stacks around. * Riders of the Swamp: If your wielder is more focused on Destruction magic, especially with multiple stacks of improved Riders of the Swamp, you'll get the easiest access to the Fireball spell compared to any other faction. Mixing Strategies: If you combine these approaches, Ice Bolt can be a lifesaver for keeping enemies trapped in your Acid Clouds. High-Tier Spells: Beyond the spells already mentioned, the Rana have easy access to Rupture. They also get easier access than anyone else to the Breath of the Phoenix spell.
