Gameplay Basics

First things first, let's talk about exploring. Always, and I mean always, explore the map. You'll find resources that boost your economy, buildings that give you more resources, and it just makes your army stronger. Plus, if you don't grab that loot, your opponent will! To make this even faster, try to increase your movement stat and get a secondary Wielder. This way, your main Wielder can focus on fighting while your secondary Wielder snags all the goodies. Remember to use the ALT key – seriously, use it all the time! It shows you what you can interact with, and sometimes it even reveals items hidden behind stuff in the environment.

Making a Strategy

Before you charge in, have a plan. What units are you going for? What research do you want to prioritize? Focusing on just a few unit types means your research will be cheaper and you'll reinforce them faster. The trade-off is you'll be less flexible and won't be able to cast as many different kinds of spells. Don't be afraid to experiment in the early maps of most campaigns (maps 1-3 are usually easier). This is your chance to figure out what tactics and units you like, so you can make a solid plan for the final, tougher maps.

Making the Most of Your Build Slots

Knowing how to use your town's building slots is key. Here's the breakdown:

• Towns get: 7 small building slots, 3 medium building slots, and 2 large building slots.
• Large Settlements get: 3 small building slots, 2 medium building slots, and 1 large building slot.
• Small Settlements get: 2 small building slots and 1 medium building slot.

If you've got empty slots, think about what you need most. If you're short on rare resources, consider building more Markets (you can build up to 5). They let you trade for better prices, which is crucial for unlocking your highest-tier units and making upgrades cheaper and faster. If you're constantly running out of units, focus on one unit type and use Rally Points to reinforce your armies. And if an enemy is heading your way, build a Tower! They're super strong, only take one turn to build, and can be used to take down dangerous enemies like Cheluns or Necromancers. Even if you can't wipe out their whole army, you can soften them up for your next fight.

Artifacts: Your Campaign Companions

You'll stumble upon tons of Artifacts during your campaign. Some are amazing, some are… less so. But hey, even a 'bad' artifact can be worth holding onto to sell later at an Artifact shop or give to another Wielder. Keep an eye out for artifact sets too!
