Map Objectives and Challenges Explained

Master the maps in Songs of Conquest! This guide explains objectives, challenges, movement, artifact usage, and town building strategies for PVE campaigns.

This guide covers the essential elements of navigating and succeeding in the campaign maps of Songs of Conquest. It focuses on PVE gameplay and provides strategies for objectives, challenges, movement, resource management, and town development.

Gameplay Basics

Movement, Explore!

  • Always explore the map to find resources, capture buildings, and gain visibility. Looting is crucial; if you don't, your opponent will.
  • Increase your Wielder's movement stat and utilize secondary Wielders for faster and more efficient looting. This allows your main Wielder to engage in more fights per turn.
  • Use the ALT key frequently to reveal interactable objects and hidden items.

Make a Strategy

  • Decide on your unit goals and research priorities. Focusing on a few units allows for cheaper research and quicker reinforcements but reduces flexibility and spell variety.
  • Experiment with tactics and units in the early maps (1-3) of most campaigns, as they are generally easier. This helps you discover preferred strategies before the final, more challenging maps.

Make use of your build slots

  • Towns: 7 small, 3 medium, 2 large building slots.
  • Large Settlements: 3 small, 2 medium, 1 large building slot.
  • Small Settlements: 2 small, 1 medium building slot.
  • If you have free slots:
    • Build multiple Markets (max 5) to improve trade prices for rare resources, unlock high-tier units, and make upgrades cheaper and faster.
    • If you are running low on units, focus on reinforcing one unit type via Rally Points.
    • If an enemy is approaching, build a Tower. They take one turn to build, are powerful, and can damage or destroy dangerous units like Cheluns or Necromancers, softening them up for future battles.

Artifacts

  • Encountered artifacts can be beneficial or detrimental. Even
