The Core Guardian — Strinova Walkthrough

Defeat The Core Guardian in Strinova's Ironclad Gauntlet. Learn its attack patterns, counter energy projectiles, and bypass its turret systems with ease.

The Core Guardian is a formidable mini-boss encountered midway through the "Ironclad Gauntlet" mission, serving as a gatekeeper to deeper sections of the facility. This stationary, heavily armored turret system is designed to repel intruders with a relentless barrage of energy projectiles and a devastating area-of-effect attack. While not a full-fledged boss like the Alpha Strider, the Core Guardian demands precise movement and efficient damage output to overcome.

Strategy:

• Prioritize Turrets: The Core Guardian itself is invulnerable until its four surrounding energy turrets are destroyed. Focus all fire on these smaller, less armored targets first. They have a moderate health pool but can be quickly dispatched with sustained fire from your primary weapon.
• Utilize Cover: The Core Guardian's main cannon fires slow but powerful energy blasts. These can be easily dodged by utilizing the various crates and structural pillars scattered throughout the arena. Always be moving between cover while engaging the turrets.
• Watch for Overcharge: After all four turrets are destroyed, the Core Guardian will initiate an "Overcharge" sequence. During this phase, it will glow brightly and begin charging a massive area-of-effect pulse. This is your window to deal significant damage to its exposed core.
• Exploit Weak Point: The Core Guardian's core, exposed during the Overcharge, is its critical weak point. Unleash your highest damage abilities and secondary weapons during this time. Precision shots to the core will deal bonus damage.
• Repeat and Conquer: The Core Guardian will reactivate its turrets after the Overcharge phase. Repeat the process of destroying the turrets, taking cover, and then damaging the core during its vulnerable state. Two to three cycles should be enough to defeat it.

Successfully defeating the Core Guardian will unlock a shortcut and grant access to a weapon upgrade station, making the rest of the "Ironclad Gauntlet" significantly easier.
