Learn how to defeat Fury Bowser in his third encounter in Super Mario 3D World + Bowser's Fury. This guide covers his new attacks and strategies for Giga Cat Mario.

Alright, so you've collected at least 20 Cat Shines and you're ready to take on Fury Bowser for the third time! Just grab one of those Giga Bells lying around to kick things off. Fury Bowser is bringing all his old tricks from the last fight, but he's learned a new move: he'll summon those blocks that rain down from the sky, and they'll get stuck in the ground. Normally, you'd use these to dodge his fiery breath, but as Giga Cat Mario, you're too big to worry about that. The cool part? You can actually pick up these blocks!

Stats / Weaknesses:

• Fury Bowser has roughly half health remaining from the previous fight.
• The summoned blocks can be picked up and used as weapons.
• Hitting Bowser with a block flips him, exposing him for a Ground Pound.

Phases:

1. Fury Bowser uses his standard attacks from the previous fight.
2. He begins summoning blocks from the sky, which embed in the ground.
3. As Giga Cat Mario, you can pick up these blocks.
4. Hitting Bowser with a block stuns him and flips him onto his back.
5. While he's flipped, perform a Ground Pound on his belly for extra damage.

Strategy:

• When Bowser summons the blocks, don't worry about hiding. Instead, run up to one of the giant blocks he drops.
• Pick up the block (you'll automatically grab it when you're close enough as Giga Cat Mario).
• Now, just walk up to Bowser and hit him with the block. He'll take damage and flip over.
• Quickly jump and press ZL/ZR (or the equivalent button for your controller) to perform a Ground Pound right on his exposed belly. This deals significant damage!
• Repeat this process. Since he should have half health or less, you won't need to do this too many times to defeat him.
• Once you beat him, you'll clear out most of the map's black goop, though a few small spots might remain.
