Fury Shadow Hops to It Cat Shine: Chase the Fury Shadow that looks like Luigi. Ranged power-ups work well. Hit the Fury Shadow three times to earn the Cat Shine.

Feasting on Fuzzies Cat Shine: Grab the potted Piranha Plant near the island gate. Carry it close to the Fuzzies to make it eat them. Defeat all Fuzzies this way to spawn the Cat Shine near the start. The Piranha Plant will respawn (be brought back to life at a checkpoint after death) after a few seconds if it perishes.

Hurry! Hop behind the Wall! Cat Shine: Ground Pound the big button on the first stable platform to start a 20-second timer and reveal more course elements. Use a Super Leaf to glide over gaps or the Super Bell to climb the grey brick wall. Alternatively, use the cannons to shoot bombs into the wall. An annoying Magikoopa may block the intended method. The Cat Shine is behind the brick wall.

Five Cat Shine Shards Cat Shine: Collect the five Cat Shine Shards scattered around the island. Shard #1 is in the air between two elevated donut blocks. Shard #2 is on the corner, on an invisible cloud platform. Head up the donut block stairs for Shard #3 at the top. Shard #4 is between two donut blocks. Shard #5 is above disconnected donut blocks. The Tanooki Suit can help with collecting shards. Collect all five to get the Cat Shine.

Blast the Fury Blocks Cat Shine: The Fury Blocks are located underneath the main area, accessible on normal land. Wait for Bowser to appear, then stand next to the Fury Blocks and have him break them to get the Cat Shine. The surrounding waters are black goop until the first Shine is collected.
