Scamper Shores

Follow the wooden walkway under the giant archway to encounter Conkdors. You can sprint past them or trigger their attack and pounce on their head. A Super Bell power-up is available from a question block between the Conkdors if you are big Mario.

Continue uphill to rotating fences. As Cat Mario, you can climb them; otherwise, wall jump off them. A hidden question block is on the right wall under the fence. A row of question blocks is on the ledge above, one containing multiple coins that can be farmed by Ground Pounding and holding the button.

Wall jump or climb to the next ledge. Cats here run from you unless you are Cat Mario, then they run to you. A tower with paw prints requires the Super Bell to ascend, but only contains coins. Another long question block yields a power-up, and a horizontal rotating fence leads across a thin wooden plank. Conkdors are on either side of this plank.

Cross the Conkdor bridge. Ignore the rotating fences for reaching the top. Instead, use the ramps on the side, avoiding Conkdors in alcoves. Make one final jump to reach the top and the Cat Shine.

After collecting the Cat Shine, a wooden platform leads down to the Giga Bell. Approaching it triggers a conversation with Bowser Jr. about the bell waking when Fury Bowser wakes. The bell is currently covered by black goop, requiring more Shines to clear. Return to the archway for Scamper Shores to start the next Shine.

For the Fury Shadow Cat Shine, head to Scamper Shores’ gate. A black goop ball with spikes will appear and transform into Luigi before running off. Chase it and damage it three times to get the Cat Shine. Jumping on it works, but a power-up makes it easier. A clear box to the left of the gate cycles through power-ups quickly.

The Fury Shadow runs right and up ledges to the first area, then jumps to the second area with cats, running around a pillar. Avoid Piranha Plants that snap when you get close. The third hit on the Fury Shadow automatically grants the Cat Shine.

For the Key to the Cat Shine, a cage is near the island's beginning with the Shine inside. You must find a key on the same island and bring it back to the cage. If the key lands in water, it disappears, requiring you to retrieve another. The key is located near the top of the island.

Platforming is required to reach the key. Near the cage at the beginning are three question mark blocks containing Propeller Boxes, which grant a large jump and float ability. This power-up is lost upon grabbing the key.

Be cautious of Fire Piranha Plants that shoot fireballs at your last position and Piranha Creepers, which are large Piranha Plants attached to vines moving along a predetermined path.
