Make the Lighthouse Shine Cat Shine

Start the course by grabbing the Ice Skate power-up. Slide across spikes to reach the main path. Boost pads will provide a temporary speed increase. After passing Stingbies, you'll encounter a cylindrical structure with spikes and directional conveyors. To avoid spikes, jump while on the conveyors. Ice Skates respawn if lost. A ramp can launch you onto the second cylinder, or you can go through or around it. The second cylinder has narrower spike walls. A final ramp leads to the area where the Cat Shine awaits.

Blue Coin Bustle Cat Shine

Activate the P-Switch past the gate to spawn blue coins and start a hidden timer. Blue coins disappear quickly, and missing them means restarting the course as you cannot backtrack. A cannon in the final area allows you to return to the start. Collect the blue coins in the first area. In the second area, find coins to the right of the ramp, then inside the first cylinder on clouds, requiring precise jumping. After exiting the cylinder, more blue coins are to the right of the ramp. Drop down to the next section and collect blue coins inside the second cylinder, being careful near the spike walls on the conveyors. Avoid jumping here. The last set of coins in this section is before the ramp. Jump off the final ramp to find the last blue coins before the Cat Shine pedestal.

Key to the Cat Shine Cat Shine

The Cat Shine is in a cage at the beginning of the course. You need to retrieve the key from the end. At the start, you'll find Goombas and question mark boxes with Propeller Boxes. You can defeat Goombas for an Ice Skate or use Propeller Boxes to reach the key. You will lose the Propeller Box upon grabbing the key. To return, find a side path marked by a trail of coins in the final area. This linear path involves jumping up ledges and along walls. Use railings to reach the beginning due to spikes on the main path. The cage with the Cat Shine is nearby.

Five Cat Shine Shards Cat Shine

Many Cat Shine Shards may have been spotted or collected while pursuing other Shines. Propeller Blocks are available and can assist in shard collection. The first shard is on a Goomba stack in the initial area; defeat the Goombas to obtain Cat Shine Shard #1. Grab an Ice Skate and proceed to the second section. The second shard is in the air past the ramp. Use the boost pad with the Ice Skate and perform a jump at the end to get Cat Shine Shard #2.
