Conquer the fiery Grumblump Inferno in World Bowser-7! Learn how to navigate the rotating lava blocks, grab all Green Stars, and find the Stamp in Super Mario 3D World + Bowser's Fury.
Alright, welcome to World Bowser-7: Grumblump Inferno! This level is pretty unique because it's the only place you'll encounter Grumblumps. Think of them as big, rotating blocks over lava – definitely not enemies, but they'll send you straight to the lava if you fall off. The key here is to stay put as much as possible. Jumping is risky, so only do it if you absolutely have to. The first Grumblump has some Skipsqueaks on it; just watch where they go and follow their lead as the block moves.
- 1As you ride the first Grumblump, keep your balance. When you get to the second one, it'll pass by some pillars with Fire Piranha Plants. Their fireballs are usually easy to dodge, but you'll want to jump off the Grumblump to snag Green Star #1, which is perched on one of those pillars. Don't panic if the Grumblump dips into a lower area; just stay calm and keep riding. After the second Grumblump's ride, you'll find a ?-Block with a Super Leaf power-up. Keep going, cross the bridge, and you can totally ignore those Hammer Bros. Use the Jump Panels to reach the Checkpoint Flag. Pro tip: if you happen to die after this point, you can always backtrack to that ?-Block for a power-up.
- 2The next part can be a bit tricky. You're aiming for the Stamp, which is floating above a Hammer Bro standing on a small pillar. As you ride the next Grumblump, it'll slide down a hill, and you'll see that Hammer Bro right in front of you. You'll need to jump onto the Hammer Bro to grab the Stamp, and then try your best to land back on the Grumblump. Once you're back on, ride it to the end.
- 3The following section introduces Splorches, but don't worry too much. There's a Green Star Ring here, so collect all the coins that appear to get Green Star #2. Grab a power-up from the next ?-Block and keep moving.
- 4This last Grumblump will have some Skipsqueaks falling on it during its ride. You can safely ignore them; they'll just fall off on their own. Not long after they appear, the Grumblump will rise up, and you'll need to jump to grab Green Star #3. When you reach the end of the line, you'll see the Goal Pole. As the Grumblump stands tall and starts to descend, you'll need to perform a long jump to reach it. If you're rocking a Cat Suit, this part is a breeze!
- Jumping on a Grumblump is generally a bad idea; only do it if absolutely necessary or as a last resort.
- Follow the Skipsqueaks' movements on the first Grumblump to get a feel for how it moves.
- Don't worry if the Grumblump dips down; just stay calm and keep riding.
- If you die after the first checkpoint, you can backtrack to the ?-Block for a power-up.
- For the Stamp, you'll need to jump on the Hammer Bro, grab the Stamp, and then try to land back on the Grumblump.
- If you have a Cat Suit, the final jump to the Goal Pole is much easier.
