Walkthrough

    Deploy two shocktroopers (east-most), two lancers behind them, a scout, and a sniper. Assign the ZM MP 3(g) to a shocktrooper in the southern spot for extra AP. Ensure Largo is one of the lancers, with a tough one in the south and an accurate one in the north.

    Start across the river with Alicia. Move east, eliminate the first scout, avoid the mine, and take cover by the house. Save.

    Select your northernmost lancer. Move north towards the broken bridge and destroy the mortar. This shot is difficult and may require reloads. Return the lancer to camp and crouch. Save again.

    Select Welkin. Move him along the northern path to the house, eliminate the scout there, and advance cautiously past a mine near the fence.

    Select Alicia again. Move her to the fence edge, around the corner, and target the shocktrooper leader (who is facing away). Kill him and take cover in the first grassy area, facing away from the enemy.

    Select Welkin again. Move him down the path, watching for mines, and turn right to the end of the second grassy area. Crouch.

    Select your northern shocktrooper. Move towards the two snipers and eliminate the first. Save.

    Eliminate the ace sniper. To counter his evasion, flank him by going around the sniper nest and shooting him in the back, or use grenades. Try to preserve the sniper nest ladder. End phase if only 1 AP remains. Save.

    During the enemy phase, expect reinforcements and attacks on your tank and forward shocktrooper.

    In your next phase, move Welkin the rest of the way down the path, up the ladder, and to the group. Your tank should be healed.

    Use your northern shocktrooper from the sniper nest to throw a grenade into the southern enemy base, targeting the sniper or shocktrooper to draw attention.

    Advance the Edilwess tank (towards the gate) and use a mortar blast to eliminate the crouching shocktrooper and push back lancers. Position the tank to allow a character to squeeze past.

    Use your sniper to eliminate the enemy shocktrooper leader at range, using Welkin for cover if the enemy light tank is not obstructing. Park the sniper out of the way.

    Your southern lancer must attack the closer enemy tank directly. Circle behind it and destroy it. Crouch next to the bunker behind the tank if necessary.

    Move your battered southern shocktrooper forward to eliminate the enemy scout leader. If equipped with ZM MP 3(g), this may take one turn. Otherwise, use a grenade and then attack, being careful not to destroy the bunker or hit your lancer. Avoid getting too close to the second tank.

    With lancers, a tank, and a shocktrooper/sniper remaining on this side of the gate, use your scout to run past the enemy lancers (they will ignore you) to the central base. Shoot the last shocktrooper or sniper in the back. Capture the base to prevent reinforcements and then crouch or retreat.

    If the scout leader was defeated in one turn, heal your lancer if needed and move him near the crouching shocktrooper. If no healing is required, move another lancer up.
Tips
  • The wall behind the second enemy tank can ONLY be destroyed by your tank.
  • A lancer can neutralize the mortar at the very beginning of the mission.
  • The ace sniper evades significantly; flanking and shooting him in the back is an effective tactic.
  • Grenades can destroy the sniper nest ladder, so aim carefully if you want to preserve it for later use.
  • Capturing the central base prevents enemy reinforcements.
