Alright, let's talk about Orders in Valkyria Chronicles! These are special abilities you can use during battle to give your troops an edge. You'll primarily get new Orders by leveling up your different troop classes, though you can also snag some from the cemetery. We're mostly going to focus on the Orders you get from leveling up, as the cemetery ones can pop up at really random times, making them less reliable for a solid strategy.

Keep in mind that sometimes using an Order can make a situation way easier or faster than sticking strictly to the guide. If you've got a few Command Points (CP) to spare, don't hesitate to use an Order if it makes sense!

Particularly Good Orders

There are a few Orders that really stand out. First up is Defense. This gem costs only 1 CP and you'll get it pretty early when your Engineers hit level 3. Seriously, don't underestimate this one! Slap it on a unit, and they can basically shrug off anything, whether it's a charging gatling gun or moving up behind a tank. It's a lifesaver.

Another Order that's a total game-changer is Damage, which costs 2 CP. You'll unlock this when your Lancers reach level 7. This Order is incredibly powerful because it lets your Scouts and Shocktroopers suddenly start wrecking tanks. Honestly, it makes Lancers feel a bit less essential! Being able to move in with a Scout or Shocktrooper, spend 3 CP (for the Order and the move), and destroy a tank is often way more efficient than relying on your Lancers or your own tanks. We figure you'll probably have this Order by the halfway point of the game, as a lot of later strategies depend on it.

The Demolition Order, which you get when your Lancers hit level 8, is also pretty solid, but honestly, the Damage Order often does the trick just fine. A couple of other Orders worth mentioning are Attack (it's surprisingly helpful!) and Penetration. Penetration can seriously boost your effectiveness against those super-armored enemies – though thankfully, there aren't too many of them.
