Profession Ranking for Money Making:

• Jewelcrafting: 40% (due to patch benefits and personal use)
• Enchanting: 30%
• Alchemy: 12% (high-level items are expensive, but demand is uncertain)
• Inscription: 6% (could be 10% higher, but demand is inconsistent)
• Leatherworking: 5%
• Blacksmithing: 5%
• Tailoring: 2%

Note on Crafted Mats: With Runed and Crusader orbs more available, patterns using them are more viable. For example, mats for iLevel 245 tanking bracers cost less than 1000 gold.

Enchanting Details: To be a solid money-maker with Enchanting, you need to reach level 450. Profit is not guaranteed, as many offer free enchanting services if you provide the materials. To make significant gold, you must actively sell your services and travel to clients. Alternatively, you can use Enchanting to disenchant items for yourself or to enchant items on the Auction House (AH), though this may not yield much profit for level 80 gear.

Gathering Professions: Skinning, Mining, and Herbalism offer guaranteed income as their materials are always in demand. Mining is often the easiest for making money, as you can track nodes on your minimap (a small map display) without always needing to engage in combat. Herbalism is similar, but herbs can appear in more varied locations.

Recommended Combination: For maximum money-making potential and consistent earnings, choose Jewelcrafting and Mining. Jewelcrafting also provides a significant benefit by allowing you to gem all your gear for all your characters (toons).
